Sorry- you sent it to Quebec- who then said they are forwarding it to the US to be repaired? Send me an email with the details on this and I will speak to Crosman- that is absurd to have to wait weeks for a return product...
Wow , another 2 weeks !!!! I was just told by the Guys in Quebec , its at the " Waranty Station ".It looks like its going to be the new year before i get this rifle back .

Send some details, or no one can help. Your "warranty station" comment doesn't make sense- Gravel in Quebec is the "warranty station".

Seriously- send me the details of what name it was sent to Quebec under, exactly what they told you, and the date it was received by them- without this I cannot assist in getting it resolved.

I sent the rifle by Purolator on Nov 19th . For the record , the rifle got there on the 24th . Here's a copy of an e-mail from the reps in Quebec .

Hi,
It should be about 2 weeks before you get the replacement if we have another one in stock. They will be treating the warranty by the end of the week and would be able to give you a better timeframe because I do not know the exact model you sent so it’s hard for me to see if I have a replacement in stock. I will need to wait until they provide me whit he model and then It will be quick for you to get it. Let me know if you need anything else or other wise it should be treated for next week.

Best regards,

This email was sent to me on November 29th . First off they said it would be replaced , now its being fixed . I really don't mind either way but , that an awefull long time . If the Guys in Qeubec can't replace a Ram , whats the point of having them do Warranty work ?

Here's another one i got yesterday .Hi,

Your rifle is at the warranty station, I know they are a little behind since we are in the middle of the booking season right now so it should be about a week before I comes out of there. I will put a note to contact you as soon as the rifle comes out of there.

I think part of it might be a language issue, so maybe this idea of "warranty station" is another 'department' - not a separate vendor. If it is a separate vendor, Crosman might have some issues with it. Have you tried calling Crosman (1-800-724-7486) to let them know of this and ask if they think a 4 week turnaround on a warranty is acceptable? I doubt they are aware this is occurring in Quebec.

No , i've never called Crosman , if i don't hear anything next week , i'll call for sure . Still , its an aweful long time for just a Ram change out don't you think ?

Well , my Chrony showed up today so before the Wife and Kids get home, I put the Nitro Trail NP XL1100 to the test , WOW , even worse than i imagined.

Crosman Copper head 14.3g pellets , 563.3 , 613.2 ,563.8
RWS Super H point , 561.2 , 522.8 , 527.4
JSB Jumbo exact 14.3 g , 619.7 , 566.2 , 570 , 609.6 , 617.4 .
Needless to say i was not impressed but , to give Crosman credit they are going to exchange the rifle for me .

For a comparison , i also tried my Phantom .22 using the same pellets.

Copper head , 663.4, 663.7 , 669.1 , 666.2 ( consistant little bugger !! )
Crow Magnums 559.5 , 551.8 , 559.0 , 560.1 ,
RWS Super H point , 676.1 , 669.8 666.9 , 673.1 , 666.1 , 670 .
JSB Jumbo Exact , 697 , 679.8 , 684.7 .

Lastly, I also tried my Benjamin Classic (similar to a Superstreak for Canadian market, but less power).

RWS Super H , 646.7, 652.4 , 654.3
JSB Jumbo Exact 14.3g , 661.3 , 655.8 , 662.5.
H&N Crow Mags , 547 , 548, 542 .

So , its bye bye to the Nitro , hopefully the next one is at least 200 fps faster than this one.

Well , the re rammed gun showed up last year but , due to the winter , i lost all interset till today that is .Not a new gun , just a new Gas Ram .I put through about 300 shots now so it should be settled down .
Here are the new numbers . Crossman HP came out with a high of 896 JSB Reds around the 850 mark , JSB Black around the 800 mark . Wow , lot better . Hard as hell to cock though .At least i'm hitting the targets now . Yesterday at approx 40 yards , i was hitting an MT pepsi tin . The shots were going through it without knocking the tins over . Impressive for sure .

my trail np xl 1100 .22 passes my chrony at 940 high with 14.3 grain cphp's
i have a video of the 5 shot pass at home, ill post it up in 2 weeks when i get there if needed.
although atmospheric pressure, temp and humidity will affect your fps, sounds like you got a bum gun.

crow mags fly at around mid 800 from my xl.

now your re rammed version sounds pretty good.
crosman sells just the nitro piston for under $50.
probally woulda been a faster option for you.

Well its been about a month or so now since i started using the rifle again .
Figured i would retest using Polymags to start with .
Here's the shot string 857 , 842 , 855 , 861 , 850 , 855 , 859 .
For backup , i used the JSB Diabolo Exact 15.9 grains , 853, 863, 854 ,859 , 854 . Not to bad i guess . The gun is now pretty accurate ( for me ) , hits very hard .

i got the NP all weather in .22 brand new and so far, except the trigger it seems to be breaking in quite nicely.

the quality of ergonomics and finish seem to be quite good for this rifle but the accuracy suffers from the trigger more than anything else.

Kazman - I know how you feel (about low fps). Granted, mine is the next model down @ 950 fps, but when I ran it over my new chrony (thanks Eric!) , I was averaging 375 fps Shocked

I was hoping it was just the piston seal as I had noticed a few nicks on it. Replaced seal (after de-burring/honing etc...) and managed to bump it up to a whopping 410 fps! So I guess I'll be ordering a new ram from Eric!

Say Kazman,
I'm not sure how new your rifle is or how many rounds you've run through it as well as how well cleaned the barrel is but I would believe that there is a certain amount of break in time required as well as a through cleaning with a copper or brass brush to take out the lead deposits that undoubtedly accumulate in the barrel causing the pellets to drag as they are being fired.

I have a Trail NP in .177 comming toward the end of the week and the first thing I plan on doing is to throughly clean the barrel if it at all looks dirty and then put a light coat of FP10 [a light highly lubricating oil] down the barrel.

This really helps to cut down on friction and should give you higher velocities.

You may have already been doing these things but I thought I bring it up.

A Correction:
Say Kazman, I guess I should have read some of your other posts as I see you have run quite a few rounds through your rifle so it should be nore than broke in.

Hi David

Please accept this in a light hearted way but your dispensing some very questionable, possibly dangerous advice.

Air gun barrels should never be lubricated. In a springer this WILL result in the combustion of the lubricant causing a pressure spike that at least will greatly affect the accuracy and at worst can reach pressure high enough to swell the chamber, recock the gun, or shatter the spring
Any airgun needs the initial resistance to momentum to swell the rear of the pellet skirt causing it to seal to the bore and fully engage the rifling.
Cleaning the bore with a brass brush is never required or recommended. the rifling is very delicate. Some Chinese airguns can be dirty enough when new to warrant pushing out the grit with a nylon brush...ONCE. The only reason I say this is because IMO pulling a patch through that is loaded with abrasive grit is equivalant to pulling thru emery cloth.

Say SMP,

I find your comment very interesting in lite of the following links and the information contained therein:

The Barrel
Without cleaning and lubrication, your air rifle’s barrel can experience a build-up of debris or even worse, rust. Any obstruction in the barrel will result in diminished velocity and very poor accuracy. Apply this solution to a clean patch and pass through the barrel from the breech end if possible. Then, use a bore brush with nylon bristles to further loosen remaining deposits of lead and debris. Next, run clean patches and the cleaner/degreaser through the bore until they appear clean upon exiting the barrel. Do not allow the bore cleaner to make contact with any seals/o-rings. Finally, run a patch, lightly oiled with RWS Spring Cylinder Oil, through the barrel. Always push the patch from the breech end if possible. An RWS Flexible Cleaning Rod may help with this process.

Also you said: > Some Chinese airguns can be dirty enough when new to warrant pushing out the grit with a nylon brush...ONCE. The only reason I say this is because IMO pulling a patch through that is loaded with abrasive grit is equivalant to pulling thru emery cloth.<

I'm unsure just how debris in the barrel left from shooting pellets through it could become anything other than what they already are?

If pulling or pushing a patch down the barrel is considered a bad thing due to all the alleged abrasive grit, then just what is happening when a pellet if fired down a dirty bore being that it's many times harder than a patch?
Where did all this abrasive grit all of a sudden come from?

If as an example you were out shooting in a sand storm and opened your barrel to reload then yes very possibly some abrasive grit could get into the chamber area or through the front of the barrel so it would only seem logical to run a lightly oiled patch down the barrel to clean the grit out.
But debris left from the pellets your shooting and a slight bit of oil emitted during the discharge process is all natural and comes from the pellets you or I are using.

The links above had a lot of good information to clarify the issue of lubricating not only the bore as I said using a a couple of drops of lite oil on patch and pushed on a Jagg down the barrel but the need to throughly clean the barrel too.

But it your choice what you do?
