Cool video! He certainly seemed to enjoy his lunch. Were you shooting (the video) through a spotting scope?

Yep... I cut over half the video out because I could not keep the cam lined up with the scope... I need to make another mounting bracket.

We have a resident hawk that snatches field mice in broad day light.
Cool bird.

Youdaddyjoe, The bird in your video is a Crested Caracara.

I’m not sure where you live,Shrug but the Caracara’s range is only in Texas for the most part. A few are seen in Florida and Arizona.

Here in South Texas, we see them eating road kill on the back roads. Some people call them a Mexican Eagle, but they are members of the Falcon family.

Nice video and good shot of mother nature. Thumb Up! v2

I just seen in your post 2 fer1 whistle pigs and you said you hunted in SW Idaho.

If that is where the video was shot at, then the Caracara was a long was from his home. Shocked

Weird things happen in the bird world. Crazy/Loopy

God knows... all of SW Idaho is a "Birds of Prey" sanctuary.

Don't even get caught pointing a gun at any of them.

Last year on our Hells Canyon Jet Boat Tour we spotted several bald eagles.

That was a awesome video

Bald Eagles are the craziest birds I've seen...I see them every once in awhile when driving about 1.5hrs north of where I live (in Canada Faq-U ) Cool

My best Bald Eagle sighting was when we were driving into Lake Shasta.

He was crusing about 6' outside of the driver's side window as I drove into the canyon. I almost wrecked the car watching him instead of the road.

Friggin camera was packed with the rest of the gear in the back of my van...
