I bought one of these and first time I shot it it seemed very underpowered. This was moments after I received it from FedEx. I know that in cold temps Co2 will not be a great performer. My shots were rainbowing to the target. I tested it again today was better yet still seems under powered I can c the pellet entering the target. I was wondering if this is the norm for this rifle. Also worth mentioning I dont here the Co2 hiss that you should hear from the Co2 cartridge being pierced. Im thinking possibly In not getting a proper use of Co2 pressure from it not being pierced fully. Any info on what Ive said will greatly be appreciated.
Thanks

The 1077 performance out-of-the-box can be a crap-shoot. I have seen some brand new at 490fps, some at 575fps.
When you have emptied the Co2 caplet, pull it out and check the size of the hole if you suspect it is not feeding properly- it's hard to describe what is a "correct" vs. "too small" a hole- but some caplets have too soft a top and they stretch before piercing, doing exactly what you describe- not creating a hole large enough to proper Co2 volume to get through.
If you do a search on the forum here, you may also get some ideas of how to improve things.
However, you are correct that the colder the temperature, the less pressure Co2 will have. Look here: http://www.airgunhome.com/pages/calculators.html
third box, type in your current temperature and see what the Co2 vapor pressure is, then select a normal indoor temperature (68*) and see the result. The PSI output indicator translates directly to power in the rifle- and the amount of pressure loss based on temperature can be surprising. |

| Thanks Eric for your input. The Co2 calculation thing is quite interesting!!! Im thinkin I just got one with the lower end of the FPS. Im gonna try it out one more time and if no good results I will exchange or return it. |
