An interesting little tidbit for anyone in Canada:

As most people above the 43rd parallel are aware, Crosman won't ship Marauder's to Canada (it was classified as "Prohibited" by the Canadian authorities because of the suppressor) or the Silhouette pistols as they have a power adjuster that will allow them to go over 500psi/4.2fpe.

Well, it appears that all the Canadian Dealers bothering them, and guys like me who have told them flat-out we have modified versions of the Marauder coming in from third parties (not economical, and not for sale to people)- they are considering modifying the Marauder, and possibly the 1701P so that they will not be "Prohibited" or "Restricted" in Canada.

There is no definitive timeframe on this, but the Marauder being modified is looking like it may very well happen, the Silhouette only if they believe there is any Market for a detuned PCP match pistol.

If you are in Canada and would consider buying either a Marauder if it were legal as a "non-restricted firearm" (as in you have a license already) or a Silhouette- could you indicate here that this is the case, and which would interest you? If we can get any idea of potential future sales, (big potential sales numbers always look good to corporations) this may help push Crosman over the edge and get it done.

Within the year I would like to get into a PCP and the Marauder 22 would be my first choice.

No news from Crosman on it- last thing was a couple months ago they called looking to get an idea of what the most desirable caliber would be if they only made one version for Canada. I suggested .22 was probably the safest bet. Who knows what they will do now- won't likely have any word on it until late January...

Be careful what you wish for, we can now buy the Benjamin Marauder .22 in the UK for £440 UK or $660 US, when the US version can be bought for around $340 US.

The excuse over here is that it costs more to limit the out put to 12fpe, also people are complaining that to get the power down the hammer spring has been changed, and the sweet spot and performance is not there?

But being next door to the US you maybe lucky and get a good deal, where as we are being ripped off and sales are poor because for another $120 US you can buy a Air Arms S410.

The issue for Canada won't be the power- it would be classified as a "firearm" no matter what- so that's not a concern- removing the suppressor function is the issue. That being said, Crosman has a different pricelist for every country- with the lowest prices being paid in the U.S.- Canada's pricelist is anywhere from 20 to 50% higher, I have no idea about the one for the UK and/or Europe.

The shroudless Marauder seems to be the only way for Crosman to get into the Canadian market and us getting one. The rifle would loose some of it's appeal since it's most desirable feature is the shrouded barrel... Crying or Very sad

I would buy one as soon as I could if they become available. (.22 CAL) Eric, can you elaborate on the mods you had done to your rifle for importation ? Is that what Crosman will do if they go ahead ?

I Have put together a list of the Mods I would do to Canadianize the Marauder so it cannot be converted back...
1-cut the barrel and remove all baffles
2-don't drill the holes that vent in the barrel.
3- enlarge the cap hole.

All these operations don't require much time or $ investment from Crosman, simply some specs are different: lathe operation to cut barrel same but shorter and drill with a bigger bit the cap. One less machine station to cut the barrel vent holes... So not much trouble.

It's also possible to put a plug ( hollow cylinder) in the barrel if they don't want to cut the barrel.

I might just give Crosman a call and see whats going on, I have been looking at the M. ever since it's out and can't get one. Angry Splat

Unless you will have a gunsmith make new parts; there is no way to revert the Canadian Marauder...

If the price is too high, why not buy it in the US then? I phoned and they told me to register it prior to bringing it back that's all, if it were unsuppressed that is.

Not sure what to do, I put a cross on the Marauder but now I'm all exited WooHoo!

wish I could speed up the process, make a pre-purchase... whaterver !

Keep the Canadian Marauder alive !
