Does anybody know how to make the pump on this easier? I want something bigger physically than a red ryder for my son, but he can't pump the 760 by himself. My son is 9, but he is bigger than some of the 7th graders that my wife teaches. There is actually one kid who wears my son's hand-me-downs.
Anyway, if somebody knows how to ease the pumping effort, or has any ideas on what else would be a marlin-22 sized rifle that shoots BBs, please let me know. I want to take my son out starling and crow hunting this year. |

The only way to reduce pumping effort would be to add more space between the pump rod cup and the valve top (which you could do by machining off the "nose" on the valve top)- but this would also mean each stroke would put less air in the valve- more pumps to get same shooting effect/output.
Essentially, you would be doing something like this- but leaving far more space between the piston and valve: http://scopesandammo.com/storefront/product_info.php?cPath=38_48&products_id=383
Funny idea, using a "performance" part to actually reduce power... |
