I had a good weekend on a couple of short walks through the woods with the pneuma. Varying temperatures didn't affect the POI. Didn't loose a squirrel from a poorly placed shot. And all stayed where they hit the ground except 1 who went about 10 feet.
However on 3 squirrels I took at longer ranges with chest shots the pellets were lodged under the skin on the exit side. There was no visible expansion at all. I had always hunted with premiers in 177 but found the benjamin pellets cost much less and seemed accurate enough for my shooting. I figured the HP's would have a little more expansion but that was not the case.
They still performed well.
Also nailed a crow with a headshot at 50 yards.
I'm extremely pleased with the pneuma. A 15 shot group at 50 yards the other day had 9 pellets go through the same 1/2" tall by 3/8" hole and other 6 within 1" or so. All with a 5 mph wind that I was waiting to die down before shooting.
About 1200 shots through it with no problems. |
