Is it true that a pellet rifle needs to go through a "breakin" period of several hundred shots before maximum accuracy can be achieved?
Thank You.

I know this to be true for springers, but I don't know on other types of power plants.

I've heard many say that their pumps and pcp's shoot great right out of the box.

All of my rifles are spring type. I guess I'd better start shooting. Thank you for your help.

Not only is it the rifle, but the shooter must get used to the rifle.

That's definitely true for springers. I'm less experienced with gas guns.

I find that my proficiency goes downhill if I spend even a few weeks away from a particular gun. Then I "re-discover" its quirks and things get better.
