I'm still guilty of shooting plastic army men in my spare time but I've tried a bunch of the other stuff listed as well. It's all fun. My latest kick has been a huge bag of the old school flat lollipops. 1.25/1.50 inch target 25-60y.
I drilled 3 holes for the sticks in a 6" piece of 2x6 wood. I had a bunch of scrap wood so I made 5. Set them out at 25, 30, 40, 50 and 60y. Good mil-dot practice and reactivity is relative to the pellet strike (to a point). A dead center hit will eliminate the lollipop, a glancing blow (or edge strike) will usually leave the majority of the pop in place and allow for a follow-up shot.
A little duct seal or the like will in the hole will help prevent the lollipop from spinning too much after an edge shot.
Treat the area with ant killer. Ants REALLY like lollipops. |

Mints are a well shot target in the UK,... we also buy chalk in colored, 1 inch diameter sticks,... cut into slices, they make very reactive targets......
And for when we get really adventurous, we use 'Polo' mints, they are 3/4" in diameter, with a hole in the centre..... tape them to a colored card, and shoot through the hole, without chipping the mint!!!!!

Matchheads are tougher - toothpicks are long enough that I don't worry about elevation, just windage. |

Hilti rounds, It's basically a .22 blank, they slided right into holes you already made while shooting, or just push them into a piece of cardboard. They go POW when you hit them, and I like that.

That is a darn good idea..  I have some CCI #11 caps left over from my years of black powder shooting....now things just got interesting...  |

If you glue a bb on the tip and hit the target, sometimes the bb get launched
