I know little about these except for no more then 8 pumps, leave 1-2 pumps when stored and they appear to be accurate. Is there anything else I should know about these babies? Except maybe every 1,000 shots a drop of pellgun oil or similar. Took mine apart, hone parts of the trigger, change that heavy trigger spring for a long ball point spring and oiled those parts. Readjusted the sights and with these bad eyes of mine put three shots all touching at 10M. Think I'll refinish the stock and figure something about the chipped paint or whatever they used on these thing back then. That's the model I remember seeing as a kid in the sporting goods stores. About 2 years ago, I ended up with my uncle's 1955 Crosman 140. I sent it off for some work on the seals and pumper and it shoots like its new. I've been doing a bit a work on mine and still need to do the final touch ups. So far have redone the stock, and polishing the whole gun down to brass. I should have taken a before picture as it was in rough shape. I really don't know, probably in the 1990's is my guess. It has a really long serial number,297704XXX and stamped Benjamin Sheridan on it.
