Well I think I am 1 of 2 on here with a Stoeger shouldered. I am new to this type of genre of rifles. I'll be honest I have no idea what I am doing persay with scopes, mounts, pellet weight, brand, type, preventative maintenance and where I can purchase my accessories.
Now on another post, I posted the below a couple of members said go with leapers mounts. Well I can't find any in the 11mm.
I am looking for a scope that will hold up to maybe 100 yard shooting out of a springer. I am unsure on 1 piece or 2 peice mounts. Given I bought the rifle new, but didn't spend a arm and a leg I would prefer to keep it around $50-60 for scope and mounts.
I have the rifle for critters. So I was told PBA Raptors are scrap. Now as mentioned I have no clue what I should be shooting to get the best results or penetration. So brand and model for pellets would be awesome.
I was thinking of this for the scope:

This for the mounts:

Should I be doing anything under a 500 shots on my air rifle? Lube prior?
I heard Pyramid whatever is having issues with customer feedback on the quality of service and products delivered. Were should I spend my when I purchase this stuff. I don't have a Cabelas or Bass Pro near by. Just Wally world and local stuff. Which don't carry a whole bunch. |

hi..
these are the mounts to get...One peice..
They grip the dovetail grooves better and have
less chance of moveing....

The problem I see with those rings is that there is only one screw for the ring and only one screw for the mount. This could allow movment on a springer due to the amount of multi direction recoil. I would sugest something like these....

or

These are the ones we have and both work well.

I would not do anything until after say 1500 pellets because it may take that long to get broken in. I know Stoeger says that the Stoeger X10 does not need to have a break-in period and my wife's shoots great out of the box. Really I don't believe you should do anything but shoot it until your accuracy starts to suffer then just run some clean patches through the barrel until they come out clean. I recommend using a piece of weed whacker with one end flattened with heat and the other end sharpened to pull the patches through the barrel.

I have heard the same thing even though I have not experienced it except with one particular employ. Then of course these stories are mostly about customer service and most of the time when you buy something you won't need customer service. As far as their quality of products goes they just pass on the quality of what they receive so it seems to me if you pick good quality items like leapers then you will probably get good merchandise if you go with some unknown name or some thing like Gamo (sometimes good & sometimes not so good) then you take your chances. |
