First snowfall today, so what Alstone dubbed "Slavia's Beanie Hat" is out of the drawer. A friend at work said it makes me stick out "like a turd in a punchbowl," so in the family lexicon it's called "Turd II" ("Turd I" is red).

However cold the weather might be it's nothing compared to the icy stare I got from "She Who Must Be Obeyed." Apparently girls have different ideas about accessorizing when going out for romantic anniversary dinners, so the hat stayed home.

Son at college got a buzz job and asked for a hat just like it - I'm so proud.

Yourdaddyjoe - you're coming up on your first Idaho winter. Walmart has these hats for $1.69, and it will drive the women wild.

For the rest of you, may you continue to enjoy the blessings of CO2 weather.

Excellent cold weather beanie! Just being that color will keep your brain warm! Perhaps SWMBO would be more accepting if your beanie were to be laundered? Question Smile

My husband Matt lost his black beanie (skull cap, to some), the one that was a gift from Cycle Oregon a few years ago. He probably dropped it near the gear drop boxes the first or second day. It never did turn up in gear drop or in lost and found. If anyone picked it up and could return it, he would be delighted!

Don't forget that Orange is the dutch national color. Wink All those prisoners who are wearing orange? They are just dutch soccer fans.

I think it may depend upon which correctional facility you call home. For example, Martha Stewart would have worn the "tea rose" orange. Dutch soccer fans would probably wear "atomic tangerine" orange. My beanie is "makes your eyes bleed" orange.

Never did have a little ball on top. I don't like them anyway, since you can't wear the beanie under a hood.

This is all the rage at the daughter's school. To me it just looks like a bad hair day for Pippi Longstocking:

The soccer fans are generally colorblind and wear several shades of orange. That's why they need to be contained. Wink

That'd be 'Langkous' in dutch. It rolls of the tongue better.Razz

Universiteit Utrecht should do a study on the relationship between ale consumption and color acuity.

Uncle Slavia... Never ever give "The Aunt who must be obeyed" a Printers "Pantone Color Book" if you decide to paint a room in the house... It will take less time to do the job than for her to make a decision on color... Last one I used was 2" thick and God knows how many colors....
