Target to download and print: Week 122; Oct 11 > Oct 24/2010
1)Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
3a) The rules for shooting 5m or 10 m are that the distance from the target to the firing line should be 10m for rifle and 5m for pistol.
All shots, from whatever shooting position must be made with the competitor wholly behind the firing line but able to touch it.
Basically the shooter should be behind the line but the part of the gun not being held by the shooter can protrude past the line.
4) All targets to be shot standing
5) Any sighting device may be used.
6) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
7) 11 shots total, I at each target. Up to 5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using the Green
8) 15 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 15 minutes-stop!).
9) Scoring is 10 for Red and 5 for White and 3 for Blue. Only one hit per target counts. Maximum point count is 110.
10) Entries need to be scanned or photographed and posted. Please list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
11) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries, only one entry for each, but all rules must be followed.
12) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
13) An honourable contest for sport- to lie or cheat, is the only real loser. Please keep it above-board!
14) Each competition runs from Monday to Sunday. Your entry must be posted in the forum no later than 23:00 GMT Sunday.
15) These rules are for this week's shooting competition and may change for others
Please make sure that the blue border is visible on your entry, plus the green dot is 12mm diameter on A4 paper.

Okay, finally got the trigger on the Daisy where it doesn't creep too bad
and is under 5# or so....
Geez, do I miss the match trigger on the Walther
But...
downloaded the target, standard bullseyes... thought this was well within
the capabilities of the gun, printed it out and posted it up.
One thing is that the stock cheek swell being non-adjustable, my head position isn't what I'm used to. But decided to have a go....
Trigger still sucks and the sights really suck, and I'm tending to
overhold a bit, as I pull that trigger....
Should get better with more practice.
So, I get to shoot the next one with the Walther? lol
Bring it on, guys!

meant to post a picture of the rifle...
Here it is, next to the target rig....
Right now, am shooting it with just irons, as I thought the 10m experience
would help me. But, shooting it is so different than the Walther....
So, what's a good scope? |

Depends entirely on what you want to use it for.... Variables are great for hunting and yet I use a fixed 4 X 32 for Grouse out to 35 yards.... If you have never used a scope you will be surprised at how "wobbly" you are compared to using irons.... When I shoot offhand I seldom use more than 4X because over that I just get frustrated trying to hold on the target.... and I actully shoot worse.... The top-of-the-line Bushnell at the present time is the 6500 series which have a greater zoom range than any other scope I know of.... They have a 2.5-16 x 42 and the same zoom in a 50mm.... If I had the funds, I would buy one....
If you have the opportunity, look through several brands in dim light.... I have shopped for more than one scope in the evening and assessed them by looking across the street at night.... The Bushnells are consistently as bright as scopes costing several times more in my experience....

I'm in, just wait until my gun arrives. I figure this is as good an idea as I can get without joining a club. I don't have a clue as to how well I'll shoot. I only did OK with a Marlin 22. Now I have to learn how to scan the target and post it. This should be fun.
Are there really people from arond the world on this forum or are some of these locations, other than the obvious funny ones, BS? |

Welcome to AirGunHome Target shooting LittleRickie, posting your target is easy just scan it and save, click on “Post Reply” and when the box comes up there is a message at the bottom of the box, it says “Add image to post” click on this then go to the folder where you saved the scanned target and click on the photo, it will then be put into the post.
As for where do our members come from this being a world wide airgun forum so our members also come from around the world, I live in England, AirGunEric in Canada ,Broommaster the Netherlands, Slavia USA etc, and lots of other places especially North America, mostly the English speaking countries.
