Hi, I just get new Daisy Winchester 500 about one week ago and I really happpy with it! But I have problem to choose right pellets. The problem that I have - most type of pellets are hard to load, I need to push pellet with nail to insert well. Only one type (daisy flathead) is really easy to load - they just foll in and accuracy is quite good with them. But all other I tried - Crossman pointed, Crossman flathead, Daisy hollowpoint - hard to load and poor accuracy obtained. It is OK that only one kind suits?
What is the problem? |

| The Winchester 500 typically have tight breaches, so what you experience is normal for this rifle. Since the Daisy pellets fit well and shoot well in yours, keep using them and forget the rest. Otherwise, you can continue to seat the tight fitting pellets, but use something safer than a nail (maybe a pencil, or a real pellet seater) so you don't mar the breach or damage the breach seal by accident. If you do a wide Internet search on the topic, you may find a mod to "open up" the breach with a cone of sandpaper... but don't do it unless you are definitely giving up on the Daisy pellets in favour of another tight brand/type. I think I'll go grab some Daisy pointed pellets this week to try them again in my 500XS, seems to me they fit well in mine too. I have been using the Crosman wads and pointed in the milk cartons as they fit pretty good and shoot OK and are CHEAP! (5000 pellets through). |

Sounds reasonable.
