Buying a 22 mrod since our neighbors are complaining about our 22 and 20 gauge when we shoot turtles, snakes, squirrels and other pests.

Considering the following scopes. If you have other suggestions, please let me know. Is the airmax worth the extra money?

http://www.hawkeoptics.com/us/riflescopes/airmax/index.php]URL Hawke Airmax 3-9X40 AO from AoA for $159 mounted and sighted.

http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Leapers_5th_Gen_3_9x40_AO_Mil_Dot_Rifle_Scope_with_R_G_1_Tube/659 or http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Leapers_5th_Gen_3_9x50_AO_Mil_Dot_Rifle_Scope_with_R_G_Reticle_1_Tube/658 for 69.99 from PA.

http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Leapers_5th_Gen_4_16x50AO_Rifle_Scope_Illuminated_Red_Green_Mil_Dot_Reticle_Zero_Lock_Reset/1808for 82.00 from PA

http://www.walmart.com/ip/CenterPoint-4-16x40mm-Scope/10248654 for $60.00 from Walmart.

Do red dots work with the mrod and if so, is this type of scope recommended?

I have used the Hawke 3-9 x 40 AO Airmax.... the Leapers 3-9 x 40 AO IR.... and the Leapers 4-16 x 50 AO.... no experience with Centerpoint....

I think you will find you need high mounts for the 4-16 x 50.... other than that, it's a nice scope, focuses down to 10 yards.... The 3-9 x 40 scopes only need medium height rings, which I prefer.... better for close in shots.... not as critical on gun tilt.... and you usually get a better cheek weld although I haven't got a Marauder so can't be sure on that rifle.... The Hawke has their MAP6 reticle which has fewer aim points than the Leapers MilDots.... but the points on the Hawke are closer together.... and you can download free software to optimize the scope for your rifle.... The Hawke also only focuses down to 10 yards.... The Leapers 3-9 x 40 will focus as close as 5 yards which can be a benefit, especially if you are shooting inside.... and it comes with a sunshade.... plus it's quite a bit cheaper than the Hawke.... I find the Illuminated Reticle pretty much a gimick as it produces glare, even on the lowest illumination....

All of them will work great on a PCP....
