OK, I dialed in my scope at 45' and with it bench rested I achieve bulleyes that a dime will cover.
then when I shoot at 65' my shots are still a tight pattern but they all are about 1.5 inches to the right.
I haven't had a chance to shoot further out than 65' so I don't know if it gets worse.
I am shooting a Remington NP SS with a Centerpoint 3-9x40 scope.
I am new to this sport and can't figure this out... Do you have any idea why this is happening? |

What happens to the group if you shoot closer than 45'? |

You could possibly adjust scope for the 65' distance and it still shoot good at the 45' ....the further the distance , the more ANY deviation from "dead nut's zero" (not the technical term ) will show itself.... have had this happen to me. |

Parallax.
Adjust your scope's objective (if applicable) to the correct setting for every distance. If you can't, then you probably want to look at a good scope with such features. You may never get it dialed in perfectly for every shot, but making a decent effort will certainly improve accuracy.
Nothing you can do for a non-parallax adjustable scope.
If the parallax is not an issue, then try switching to iron sights. |

Tonight i took shots at 65 feet
45 feet
and 30 feet
The shots at 65 feet were right on
I shots at 45 feet were a little to the right
Shots at 30 feet were a little low and to the right
Why it is this happening?
Is it me? |

That's pretty weird.
Do the shots go further to the left past 65 yards? (If space is available)
Maybe you're unvoluntarily compensating or something, some people tend to compensate for the recoil.
Just going down the line of maybe other possibilities.
Are you sure your scope is aligned right? Maybe the scope crawls because it's not tight enough.
What kind of stand or pose are you using?
Always remember to breathe out and squeeze the trigger, not breathe in jerk it. At least till it becomes second nature.
Just saying things that come to mind. Sometimes it can get down to a silly detail that is easily overlooked. |

| When you soot at other than 65' do you use any method of compensation like aiming at a different point to get the impact point to be where you want it? Is there any difference in height for the other targets? is there any possible wind for the other targets? Is there any chance you are holding the gun different for the other targets. It sounds like either parallax error, a different hold, trigger pull or wind to me. |

| You can adjust the sights SEVERAL clicks to the left, (which will correct your 45' group) and it still wouldn't affect the 65" groups much at all..If the scope is a 1/4 inch MOA (most are) each click would move poi only 1/4" at 100 yards...at 65' (we'll call it 22 yards) each click is only going to move poi like 0.050" which is NOT very much at all...are ya following me?? Try it, I believe it will solve your problem....... I think the widely accepted method for sighting in scope is to start at 10 yards, then 20 yards, then 35, and then 50. You might give some thought to that and just start over, although it's not absolutely necessary....hope this helps... |

Everyone has been very helpful.
The shorter distances have been shot inboors, while the longer shots has been taken outside.
This gun is very accurate. I can stack the pellets 1 on top of another while shooting indoors.
When i am outside it shoots to the right and is a little more scattered.
I am beginning to think the wind is causing this.
This weekend i will shoot outside at different distances and post my results.
Thanks again everyone you have been very helpful.

| There's your problem. A little wind can make all the difference. |

| I may be wrong, but I would think that if wind was blowing the pellets off target good groups would be hard to get unless it was a very steady wind because the wind would not be the same for every pellet. |
