Just got a new Rem genesis 1000x from pyramid, thought something was funny about it though.

Scope rings an base already had blue loctite on'em, an not the little round spot on the threads that factories use when they do that. bottom of bbl has a coupla minute nicks in it on the bottom at the very back by the breech. Almost makes me think somebody has owned this at one time an sent it back. Called crosman an the tech I spoke with said the serial # I gave him was from 2006. So this means that the gun I have is almost 5 years old already.......

On top of that, I got to looking on crosman/remingtons site an they only sell the gun for $205.99, I got charged $249.99.

I'm waiting on a call from some big shot at pyramid right now. We will see if I do any further biz with'em according to how this phone call works out.

I am the prez of the local RC flying club an all of us old F**ts are trying to find something to do on rainy/cold days. I thought shooting airguns out of a warm dry clubhouse at targets an spinners would be something I can talk them into. They all got more $ than they can ever spend anyway.

Not sure what's with the pricing on the Croman website- that's a fairly recent thing, and virtually everything seems to be "out of stock" -which is absurd.

It does sound like you got a used rifle based on the description. Did it come with the correct scope and a new box?

Sucks you're having a less than pleasing experience with it, the Genesis is a great gun. Does the pricing on the website include the scope? I've seen them sold without the scope for 200 before

Yep thats with the scope....but remington/crosmans price with scope is $205.00 and I found a new one at airgunrifles.com with the scope $199.95. Just hafta spend a nickel more there an then free shipping on the gun.....

It just ticks me off that things like this didn't use to happen very often back in the 50's an 60's. People took a little more pride in what they made an also made it out of a lot better material for the time.

The only good thing I can say about this whole ordeal so far is that the gun does say Made in the USA on it. But after this deal I don't know if that is good or not................

Crosman is not to blame for this in my opinion and experience. Any returned product they get back that has been opened get shoved into the "repair/rebuild" pile (literally, a rolling steel gun rack) and is checked for issues and repackaged as "rebuilt" which they sell clearly as "rebuilt" (I've 'worked the line' with the people that do this for a couple days when I was at the factory awhile back).

However, as part of this process, the box and the gun get a sticker on them clearly stating "rebuilt" and are put in a brand new box (the old box is thrown out upon receipt- boxes don't fit so good on the rolling gun rack). A re-staple only occurs if someone opens a box again on the factory floor for some reason (i.e. they realized they forgot the baggie with the manual and safety key or such).

The chances of the rifle having come out of Crosman with scratches, excess Loctite and a double staple are about 1 in a thousand, maybe alot less. Irrelevant to your problem either way- Pyramyd shipped it, Pyramyd needs to correct it.

I'm not really blaming Crosman here, I'd say this is a pyramid deal all the way.

By the way, heres the pics of the nicked spots on the bbl an receiver. I know that rem/crosman wouldn't have let this gun out this way.

I bet a dollar to a donut this gun belonged to somebody here once before
