I bought one a few weeks ago, and frankly, I really like it. I've never shot any long gun before, so it's new to me, but it's accurate, considering the price and the fact that I'm new to shooting. The scope is crap, and I couldn't adjust the elevation low enough, but the windage adjustment holds great. I just have to aim about an inch low. Mr. Green

Loading the pellets is a bit of a pita, but I keep a plastic pencil (without the lead) to flip the pellet over if it drops in backwards, which it does about 30% of the time. I only pump 4 times and can kill pest birds pretty easily at 75 feet.

It seems many of the guys here recommend Leaper, and it sounds like they have a great reputation at a good price. I will replace the scope, and probably the gun at some point, but for now, I'm having a blast with it. It's like a toy gun that works. Smile

Yeah, the scope is el-cheapo but I was able to sight mine really tight at closer range. I just bought a "Leapers Golden Image Classic TS 4x32mm Full Size Mil-dot Riflescope with Airgun - 22 Scope Rings and Pre-adjustment at 35 Yards" for under $30 so I'll let you all know how that goes.

I had a 2100 for about 9 years before it broke and that was my fault, not the materials. The cocking bolt is supposed to be pushed in a bit before pulled back and you're probably right abouth that being a sort of safety feature

Well I got my new scope...I love this little gun. I may rename it the SquirrelMaster 77. Six squirrels down and my birds are back at the feeder again. I thought Id show yall a few shots of this sexy gun..

Heres a closer shot of the Leapers scope. Worth every penny. BTW it was pretty inexpensive.

This is the group I got just messing around afew minutes ago. May adjust the elevation a click or two up. Still need a better rest or bench.

This is my 35 yrd approximation and my "bench." I sit in one chair and prop up the barrell on the other. Fun times.

The Airmaster77- in case anyone hadn't mentioned it, is actually a Crosman 2100 in a different wrapper. Not a bad gun at all- which is odd for most guns that also shoot BBs.

i know this post is a little bit old but i think i may have a helpful answer for you.

I have had the AM77 for 3ish years and have put about 1k pellets though it. the scope it comes with is crap, throw it away!! i got a $30 BSA 4x scope that has done remarkable well. I have shot some very nice groups with it at 15-25 yards and i have shot coke cans at up to 60 yards before...I will see if i can find some pics(i might have deleted them though Sad/Cry

As to the question concerning loading pellets. well i have done it so many times that i can usually get it in the right way the first try but if it does get turned around try pushing the bolt a tiny bit forward and then back and keep doing that till the pellet flips back around(with the gun on its side pointing up). it works for me. :D
