DeadRats, now I understand your dilemma fully.
However, I personally see your goals a bit far-fetched for the price point. |
A TKO'd 2240 arguably IS going to be the best rat pistol for your money.Okay so you spend a hundred or so,however you will NEVER be let down with this combination...unlike an under powered bb gun.Actually I'm willing to bet you just might be shocked at the performance of this combination, compared to what your using now.If you were to go this route, your first kill would clearly let you know that is was worth spending just a-little more,to get the job done with stealth, and certainty...no muss...no fuss... I realize you are not an air gun freak like a-lot of us,however this combination was suggested a few times..."because it works"...the first time....every time....
I've tried the bb pistol approach in the past, sure I got kills, but I also found that most of the time it's not immediate when killing rats... a potentially nasty problem.Nothing quite like the putrid stench of a rodent carcass brewing in the attic,or in a wall on a hot summer day, because he was able to get away, and find the worst possible place to expire....that alone in my experience is worth a-little extra cash.Trying to find a rat carcass "before" it bursts open is not a race against the clock type of scenario I really enjoyed all that much...

| Do you think a pellet and BB of the same weight would both do the same damage or not? |
It depends entirely on the target and energy.... If you have barely enough energy to break the skin you would be better off with a BB as you would at least get some penetration.... If you smack a rat with 20 FPE then a hollow point made of very soft lead would be best because most pellets would simply pass through and waste their energy beyond the target....
Now add in that you should be trying to take head shots where possible and have to penetrate the skull.... Then add in that you are using a gun with less than 3 FPE of energy.... ie less than 400 fps in .177 cal.... I would think that penetration would be quite important....
Are you getting pass-through on virtually every shot?.... If so, then try a wadcutter or blunt hollow-point pellet.... You will get a wider, shallower wound channel with more energy retained within the target....
If when you smack a rat in the skull you often end up with a wounded animal and no sign of an exit wound.... then I would stick with the BB or a good round-nose pellet for best possible penetration.... and up the power if possible....

I've given your requirements a bit of thought DR and I've come to a conclusion.
1)you would like multi shot
2)have enough energy to do a kill on rats at close range
3)prefer something with a laser
4)keep the price low
You haven't actually said what your budget is. But concidering these times and all, you're either unemployed and on a tight budget, like me, retired or perhaps handicapped to some degree. All perfectly understandble situations. Taking into concideration the various pistols you've mentioned, I would assume your budget max is.. $75 tops?
What if I said there's an option that's less then 1/3 this price? Please, keep in mind I'm tying to help with your stituation. Obviously you have a rat issue, whether it be in a garage, feed bin, or even coming into your home, you MUST do something about them.
Concider this... A slingshot/wrist rocket. Don't laugh folks, I use one as a back up all the time. And I've become a darn good shot with one too! At really close range a 1/4" steel bering will easily take down a rat. If you're afraid of missing becaue they scurrry along so quickly, drop that down to 1/8" shot and stick 2-3 berrings in the pouch and launch that at the critter.
About the only drawback I can see. You need good arm strenght both for aiming hand and drawing hand. And then there's the issue of missing there will be an audiable thud when the berring hits a hard surface or riquchetes off something. I wouldn't recommend doing this in a room with your fish tank or 50" lcd hd tv.
Another option, one that I also have is a small pistol grip crossbow. Not those really cheap $10 ones with the stamped sheetmetal bows either. I've a 80lb draw crossbow with a fiberglass bow. I can regularly put a 4" pointed bolts that come with it through a 3/4" plywood board at 30 feet. Plenty enough power to dispatch a rat. These are super quiet, get the job done and you can even mount a red dot scope on them! Only precautions with these would be, the more powerful ones of 60-80lbs or more, the bolts will readily go through thin paneling or plaster board.
I know neither of these are ag's, or perhaps even exactilly what you're looking for, but unless you can some how broaden your requirements price/power/feature wise I cannot see any other options. |

WOW Gold is some information about the WOW dungeon, which is coming up on the Wrath of
the Lich King expansion for World of Warcraft Hall of Stone.
There is some information about the WOW dungeon, Buy WOW Gold is coming up on the Wrath of the
Lich King expansion for World of Warcraft Hall of Stone. It is located in the Storm Peaks and a level 77-79 dungeon. Blizzard
mentioned that they have likely to keep the level gap small, so that they can fine tune the dungeons with better ease. We
make sure that the loot is fitting to the players, who are entering the instance.
We have been leveling up quietly fast at a pace of a level per day. Lotro Gold ventured
into Ulduar, the Halls of Stone dungeon-wing. At the WOW Hall of Stones, you will find Iron Dwarves and their air elemental
pets, Runed Stone Golems, Runed Stone Giants, and Crystalline Shardlings. The dungeon run may take about an hour or less. The
dungeon is well distributed in shape of a cross. You simply run back to the center to choose either side of the cross for the
next boss. In most case, we started fighting the Maiden of Grief.
She's like Maiden of Virtue in Karazhan, except WOW Gold sale opens voids on the ground like
the first boss of Arcatraz. There is no Holy Fire. Her hands will glow purple and affect all party members with shadow
damage. It seems to do the same to a single target randomly. The tank was stunned every 25 seconds, which means everyone
should spread out the WOW gold for sale, as she will go loose on other players until the tank gets back to the action. The
WOW tank would charge her right away to get aggro back.
Kaufen WOW Gold want to walk across the WOW Hall of Stone, there is another way for
you. All you need a flying mount. As mentioned before, a flying mount becomes accessible at level 77. This instance borrows
heavily from Titan Lore and it will be a dungeon of epic scale. We briefly talk about Wrath of the Lich King for the Hall of
Stone. We hope that this content is useful and beneficial for you to access the WOW Wrath of the Lich King new expansion. |

Have you run your spec's and requirements on chairgun. I find myself just sitting there looking at the specs for several different pellets. I like that Chairgun will give you the velocity at a given distance.

Top right corner you will see a box for reticle aids. It sends an email and then you download it. |
