Can someone point me to a good peep sight for an R7?
Also, what scope would people recommend?
Finally, I've had this gun for 25 years, is there some sort of maintenance I should do? Seals to replace or something? It seems to be working fine, but I thought I'd check. Thanks. |

My experience with peep sights on R-7s, Hw50s, and R-1s tells me that it may not be worth it. I used a Lyman type and it didn't make the gun more accurate. The barrel lockup sometimes was never in the same spot and there were up/down stringing in the groups. You may need to change your breech seal at the least. |

I was considering that, but then the same would go for scopes and people surely use those successfully. Don't they? |

Yes , that's true from my experiences. I don't scope my break barrel airguns anymore. They are best with with the barrel mounted sights. Others may differ with me on this. If your airgun happens to have a good consistent barrel lockup then great. |
