Hi all, I want to sell my RWS 54 air rifle but I'm not sure where to advertise it. What would be the best place to advertise it online?

| There are the gun auction sights like gunbroker and auctionarms. I know that I've bought and sold a couple on GB and that there is at least some traffic. |

| Very true....sadly- as spotco and donec both mentioned we do have a for sale section, but for whatever reason it does very minimal business..The "yellow classified" (per the posted link) is like the MECCA for buying/selling airguns and related stuff. |

Michael..try the GTA classifieds....the airguns I've sold moved quick there.It usually takes a week or less for a buyer in my experience selling there.A good thing to do as well is to introduce yourself on that forum,as just posting an item for sale right after registration sometimes results in less inquiries....

Certainly not, when people always post links to other places. That would be the problem- people don't post links coming back here- it often seems to be the other-way around- causing a constant circle jerk. Many people don't like alot of the existing forums, but everyone keeps posting links from other forums to them, so they get more traffic and people feel compelled to join.
A good example of this sort of thing is someone here recently, who posts regularly, puts pictures of their new item (gun? I don't recall) on another site and then posts links to it on the forum here-despite the fact this is apparently their main/home forum. Talk about a kick in the pants.
So- now we direct people away from here again, and wonder why the "For Sale" section never picks up steam. Frankly, a serious seller should probably post their "for Sale" ad on every forum they can do it without paying- then they get the maximum exposure, |

 Eric I hope you didn't construe my attempt to help a fellow air gunner as lack of respect for what you have created,and work hard to improve upon,as that was not the intent.I personally think this is the best forum out there...nice,and laid back,and I thank you for making it so.True I do visit other forums very rarely,for specific needs.As in life the more options available the greater the chances of achieving one's goal.Knowledge is power,and every forum has something that increases knowledge on a daily basis.
In my personal business,and the hobby side of air guns,I direct as many people to this sight as I can first,and foremost.As fritz stated,I assumed that the OP had seen the classifieds on this site,and was looking for additional options. I was just passing on my knowledge that was so freely given to me.I do understand your point though so please accept my apology for not seeing the entire picture. |
