I was reading some posts i found in a search for "622x" and "617x" and i found a number of posts from a couple members here that apparently really like these guns. One of them REALLY liked them and had both. He seems to no longer post here as of the last couple years so i cannot PM him. But i was wondering what you guys think of some of the things he said about these guns. I don't recall his name, but i'm sure you know who i'm talking about if you were a member back then. I know the 622 isn't made anymore, but he sure made it sound good, as he did the 617. What i'm really getting at here is whether any of you believe the things he said about these guns, especially the 622. He said in several posts that with the right pellets he clocked his 622 at 600+ FPS which he said "is real good for a gun that's advertised as 400FPS". I'm paraphrasing here. Anyways, i find this hard to swallow because for one thing it was NOT advertised as 400 FPS. It was advertised as 300!!! The 177 617 is advertised as 400, or actually 485 i think for BB's, but i think it said 425 for pellets.

But what do you think about his claims? The reason i ask is if what he said is true then either the gun has much better power than advertised, or any pellet pistol should be capable far better velocity giver the right pellet. If either of those statements is true, then i may reconsider sticking with my C11 and get a 617 if it's true that this particular gun is much better than advertised, or some other repeater if it's true that another 100 FPS or more is possible with any gun with the right pellet. If i did go for the 617 it would only be because they don't make the 622 anymore. That gun at say 500 FPS let alone the 600+ he spoke of would be far and away the best for my purpose. It would likely be too loud, but i would try and live with that for all it's advantages. it would be the only option for a 22 repeater ! (i actually did do a long google search hope to find a straggler but none were available even used)

Ok, no replies so i guess not much experience here with it. But i've been reading up and i'm surprised at what i'm finding. The reviews and other info i've found on there not only suggest they are pretty fault free, quiet, and accurate, but also seem to confirm the things i read here about the velocity of this gun. several said it seems to shoot faster than the advertised 485/bb 425/pellet, but one also said he recorded 620 FPS just like that member here did, albeit with BB's or light pellets....but still. And no, it wasn't the member here because he was indeed one of the reviewers and i saw his review there citing the exact same details in the exact same words he use in this forum. But this was someone else also recorded 620 FPS with one of those devices. (WTH are those called....chrono something?) Others said things like went thru a 1/4" plywood board where two other co2 pellet pistols he had just bounced off.

So it appears this gun is not only capable of more than it's advertised velocity, but much more depending on the ammo you use. But it appears you'll have a good solid 500 FPS on a bad day with the worse ammo or heavier pellets. That and someone saying it has a "low report" and all the positive things i read made me decide to get one. The only drag is the lack of any kind of mounting rail whatsoever. So either one of those trigger mount lasers or try and fabricate my own clamp. I don't feel like those trigger guard mounts could possibly retain it's position for any length of time, plus the slightest pressure on it would probably throw it off. Figures i would find what i think is the ideal gun for me and it has to be missing one important deatil. thats why this quest has taken me so long. But this one is too good to pass up, and i'll rig it up with a laser one way or another. I've got a bit of Mcgyver in me. Mr. Green
