2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
3a) The rules for shooting 5m or 10 m are that the distance from the target to the firing line should be 10m for rifle and 5m for pistol.

6) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
7) 20 shots total, 4 at each target, one at each mini target. Up to 5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using the Green
8) 15 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 15 minutes-stop!).
9) Scoring as marked on target. Only hit per mini target counts. Maximum point count is 160
10) Entries need to be scanned or photographed and posted. Please list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
11) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries, only one entry for each, but all rules must be followed.
12) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
13) An honourable contest for sport- to lie or cheat, is the only real loser. Please keep it above-board!
14) Each competition runs for 2 weeks. Your entry must be posted in the forum no later than 23:00 GMT on the last Sunday.
15) These rules are for this week's shooting competition and may change for others
Please make sure that the blue border is visible on your entry, plus the green dot is 12mm diameter on A4 paper.

Score: 70/160
Time: 15 min
Rifle: Beeman R9
Scope: Bushnell Banner (on 4x)
Ammo: Beeman Crow Magnum
Range: 25 feet*
Hi everyone, new guy here. I stumbled across this site and thought the competition looked fun. As I noted in my post, I shot at 25 feet, as that is the max distance in my current "range." I hope no one minds, but it doesn't look like I did too well even with the handicap. We can just put an * next to my score if I ever get good enough to beat anyone . I found the "non-traditional" target to be pretty rough. Trying to "force" it to hit the ten ring cause me to fling a couple of embarrassing flyers! Also the middle "0" score was partially due to trying to rush and finish before 15 minutes. I finished a shade before 15, but didn't manage to hit anything in that group anyway. Ouch.
A couple questions related to the competition: What sort of pellet trap are you using? I am using a Beeman trap that seems to be built for 7"x9" targets (thus the folding seen on this target). I also have occasional instances when a chunk of pellet shrapnel will tear back through my target (as noted). Putting cardboard behind the paper works as a temporary solution until the cardboard gets torn up. I'm up for any suggestions.
Also, I am considering ordering a Beeman P3 soon, so I can compete at the proper 5m. |

welcome to the forum
i built my own out of 2x4 made into rectangle(about 16"x11") with metal computer case side screwed to the back(cut the side to proper size) and inside stuffed with duct seal. cost me about $25 mostly for duct seal. |

| Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I'll go with the duct seal route, as I already have an old circuit breaker box which sounds perfect for the job, and should be big enough for an 8.5X11 sized target. I bought 6 lbs of duct seal, which is all the store had, but I would guess that I need at least 6lbs more to fill the box to any sort of depth. I also need to figure out a proper way to affix the target. Should be fun. |

Hi
The rules are that if it has a shoulder stock then it is a rifle, if it hasn't it's a pistol.
As for rule 3a (from whatever shooting position ) applies to 5 or 10m shooting distance.
Rule 4 is as it states.

A serious shortage of shooters this fortnight, of the people who did shoot Xeene wins as the only shooter that qualified according to the rules.
Travis7401 has only 25 feet to shoot in so cannot be included in the 10m section, but can post a target even if it cannot be included in the final scoring.
good shooting guys

Okay, so no target rig this time. Borrowed a friend's pellet gun.
So, his idea of an "accurate" gun was an old Daisy Powerline 880
with a Daisy brand 4X scope.
The trigger pull must have been 8 pounds!!
So, shooting through a scope. Much different. Can see every tremor.
But, a lot of shots didn't go where I thought they would....
Turns out my friend says that the gun groups 0.5". At 10m!!
(He had heard of 1" MOA rifles and thought that they was as accurate as you could get...)
PS Having to try to load a pellet into that scoped gun and then
have to pump it up between each shot? Get that heartrate going!!
Must have dropped 5 pellets....
Daisy Powerline 880 10m scope standing
Match Diablos
12:17
118/160
