Hi,I have several rifles and pistols BSA Club (.177 Airsporter 1956) Scorpion pistol El Gamo target pistol and Webley Osprey.
As I have a lathe I have modified the Osprey to Club type piston ie with conical piston head and cylinder head ..teflon washer and lightened piston with teflon buttons to reduce friction and to keep central in the bore. I have also fitted a bolt inside the piston (inside the spring) with a weight the theory being that the weight moves forward as the piston reaches TDC thereby reducing piston bounce.Seems to work well the rifle is nicer to shoot and the trajectory is flatter.
Have had an ongoing problem with accuracy, due to my age I rely on a telescopic sight and the zero keeps shifting. Appears to be the feeble
and aged spring opposite the click stops. Made (lathe again) a 1" bore semi circular ring, rivetted to the sight with a central hollow fine thread screw with a couple of concentric powerfull springs replacing the previous
tired spring so opposite the click stops there is my new adjustment screw
tighten to tension the spring zero sights at 40 metres and superglue the
ner screw to prevent movement. works very well, I was beginning to doubt my ability to shoot straight.
Best wishes to all.......enjoy your sport

Welcome to AirGunHome Chippy, it sounds like you enjoy modding and generally fiddling with airguns. If you can post any photos of your mods it would make it easier to understand how you solved your problems. Especially fitting the bolt inside the piston and locking the click stop on the scope?

Al
