You don't say where you are but I go shooting at an old quarry. I found the owners and got their permission. Here is a picture of the place.

Unfortunatley I don't have any pictures handy, but I have access to a great spot.
Most of my shooting is done in my basement. I'm lucky...I have a very understanding wife who let me make part of the basement 'mine'. So by tearing down one wall I just squeezed out a narrow corridor that is within a few inches of 30 feet...so I get to practice my 10m pistol on a daily basis.
But every couple of weekends I pack up the boys (7 & 9) and head to my friends farm which is only a 25 minute drive. Behind his grain bins he devevloped a nice piece of land that is about 50 yds x 50 yds. It is ringed with fir and poplar trees which keep the wind at bay and he mows it every week. There is a great firepit. He uses it for family picnics and such...but it makes a great shooting spot.
So we usually go in the early afternoon, shoot for a couple of hours and then get a fire going in the pit and have a barbecue before heading home.
It makes a great day. |

I too wish I was rich, then I could afford a silly 50 million dollar mansion like this and invite you all to shoot at it
No, thankfully im not a greenskeeper, it takes about half a dozen guys 2 days to mow the property! I mainly take care of whatever the clients ask haha. For the most part im a professional painter but I also do the whole carpentry and "fix that thing for me" kinda stuff. Thats by far the nicest place Ive worked on so far.
Shootin and BBQ is a great combo! |

I'm stuck indoors too. Doubt anyone wants to see pictures of my basement. It's full of junk right now as I make final preparations for an estate sale. Back yard is a postage stamp at 25 FEET x 25 FEET. Not much of a "range".
I sooooo can't wait to move out of the city!!! |

Those are some tiny rabbits! And yes all painters are weirdos, i known many.
Those are some great pictures guys, open land to me is so much more pleasing to look at than giant office buildings and garbage ridden streets everywhere.
My shootin spot
Think i may have missed the squirrell once or twice |

The Waseca Sportsmen Club:
Three miles from my house, $30 USD per year, and they give you a key so you can go any time. About 50 acres are shown, with another 50 to the south in conservation set-aside (as a buffer between us and the town). Several members of the township board are also club members. Plenty of bushes for when one needs to "heed the call."
This works really slick for the firearm safety class field day. The kids register at the clubhouse by the trap range, and wander down through the woods with an instructor. On the way they practice proper carry and crossing obstacles, and finally they get to the rifle range where they shoot the mandatory .22LR course. On the way back there are optional stations for a tree stand, a duck boat, pistol, centerfire rifle, black powder, trap, and food. (We have 11 instructors and plenty of space.)
This year we forgot the ATV, so there were no hot dog deliveries to the rifle range. I actually had to walk. |
