What does it take to get a good Marauder setup going (not including scope)?

Marauder .22 = ~$470.

Not really knowing what is needed, I would envision wanting a large tank to hold bulk air and a smaller pony tank I could fill from the larger one for transportability. How much (including all tanks, hoses, adapters, etc) would this cost?

they've dropped a little in price. bear in mind i bought
mine the week they became public last year.

rifle (mac-1 prepped) $550

4-16x40 bsa scope with rings $150

used 80 cf steel tank with yoke $175.

if you really shop around you can maybe beat this by $100.

i have 2 harris bipods i paid like $90/each. they fit buy i keep 'em
on my burners.

they're standard.

my tank is $6.59 to fill. that's over 1200 rounds of shooting
filling to 2200 psi. Shocked

So, I'd get the tank filled @ a dive shop, then fit the yoke to the tank and attach the hose on the yoke directly to the mrod? I wouldn't need any sort of regulator?

correct. you don't need a regulator nor will a tank that size
fill to 3000psi. if you fill past 2200 to say 2500 psi
you will use up the air faster.

if you want to max out the fill pressure you need a 4500 psi tank.

i use what i have. i only fill to 2200 psi and that gives me 22-23 full power
shots at 26-32 fpe (depending on pellet weight) with only a velocity
adjuster adjustment. i've adjusted nothing else. to get into other adjustments for power i need a bigger tank (why i haven't tried it).

as far as any type of regulator, just fill slow. you'll lose about 100psi
of air as it cools, wait 5 seconds, slowly top it off..
for what i use this thing for it more than does the job.
i'm sure others will help with advise.

If you fill the gun to 3000psi from a 3000psi scuba tank you will loose pressure from the scuba tank every time you fill from it, essentially only getting one 3000psi fill of your gun. Whereas if you you fill to 2200psi you would get 15 (I don't know the exact number, but more) fills at a constant pressure...........You will get more shots with a higher pressure fill in the gun, but it may not give the best average velocity string, most PCP's have a "sweet spot" below the max fill pressure where velocity is highest.......

You could also get a 68cu/ft carbon fiber tank that holds air at 4500psi, this is the optimal option. You would at least 30 fills on a Mrod filling it to 3000psi each time and stopping at 1700psi, filling it to 2200psi from the 4500psi tank would allow you 134 fills Shocked

that's assuming the Mrod air reservoir is 215cc, and stopping at 1700psi someone else may know if that is right or not...

kinda. i haven't counted but i'm sure im getting say 50 fills filling
to 2200 (sometimes i go over). mine peaks at 2150-1650 psi
+- 20fps. from what i have read if you max at 3000 psi
the sweet spot is like 2500-2800 ish and you get 30 full power shots
rather than the 20-25.
again these are factory settings where i'm at.

when i told tim (owner-mac-1) that i'm getting 32 fpe/28.4 EJ's-
710fps at 2000 psi he was surprised.

yes 215 cc is right.

for a max fill you'll need a 4500 psi tank.

as i said. for the #'s i'm getting i'm leaving it alone.

1800-2000psi peak:
32fpe EJ's
30 fpe kodiaks
28 fpe crow mags
25 fpe fts

I don't suppose there is anywhere you can get a carbon fiber tank for less than $600?

Have you tried filling the mrod to ~3000psi and maximizing the power adjuster just to see how many fpe it can possibly put out? You have mentioned you are @ factory settings, but I'm curious if you have ever tried any testing w/the setting.

if you have the means i would go straight to a scba 4500 tank.

the door is now open to the super high powered pcp's.
