I decided to "up-grade" my stock 1377c so..I changed to Crosman 14" barrel (polished) and the 1399 shldr. stock, and a Stainless Steel long breech from Don Cothran..still in .177 caliber. Then I added, from Airgunsmith, a brass flat-top piston, and fully modified flat-top valve, and sear spring/guide as well. Power adjuster is on it's way from Charles Mellon, which is where the SS pivot pin came from as well. Hawke Sport red dot optics finishes it up..Painted the fore-arm to match stock and there it is..OH Did I mention I stripped frame down and painted it with Purple Anodize??? YUP, surely did.....thing is BIG FUN to shoot.....now, 8 pumps give me 598fps....12 gives 649fps.....enough FPE to hunt squirrels with at 15-20 yards, effectively.

| Looks nice...how much $ did the upgrades cost? I'm totally surprised how well I like my 1377 so wouldn't mind putting some money into it to improve it even more. |

Phillip...I bought the performance stuff from http://www.airgunsmith.com/cros1377/cros1322-77pur.htm
Including shipping, price was $80.94 for all of it..glad I did it too...8 pumps now is 598fps...12 pumps gives me 649fps with 7.9 Crosman pointed pellets...5 pumps gives it 498fps and I can pump/shoot it all day at that setting...Air is FREE, pellets are 300 for $2.97 at Wal-Mart..so what's not to like....and with longer barrel and the shldr.stk. it's pure, simple fun to shoot
Broommaster2000- I had to do it in SOME color..this way, I have a true one-of-a-kind job !! Who else would purple anodize an airgun?? |

| Where did you get the barrel (didn't see it on that page)? Are there any aftermarket two-stage triggers? The stock trigger and open sights are the two things I'd like to improve the most...it will take out starlings easy w/stock power so I'm not too concerned w/increasing power (although it couldn't hurt!). |

LIPOLY--got the barrel from where all good crosman parts come---CROSMAN !!! ta!da! 1-800-724-7486...ask for Customer Service, order by part numbers!..... the barrel cost a whole $12.08 and FOUR dollars shipping! Stock, mine would get 560fps with 10 pumps..NOw I get 598fps with 8 pumps..mo' is better, for me..now I can squirrel hunt with it as well.. out to say 20 yards..couldn't do that before, that's why I did the power mods.
Thansk Mark for the "attaboy"..I sometimes think I enjoy the tinkering as much as the shooting ! |

WELCOME there bang !!! I see you've just now joined the madness Unique paint scheme on that one, for sure...Best Airguns has them on sale right now for $62.95. I've tried a few of the chinese guns, but I never has good of luck as you seem to have with that one..Mine were ALL way BELOW advertised fps and none of them were what I'd consider to be accurate....but I've never been nicknamed "Lucky " either, so go figure..... |

I like the purple anodize, did it come like that or did you get it done. If so was the barrel done seperate to trigger guard, as the trigger guard is pot metal and I didn't think it would take an anodized finish?
Very nice job.

I don't know if you've done anything with the trigger.... but if you fit a lighter trigger spring and put the old sear spring in the valve it will move the pressure where it retains air up the velocity range a bit.... "Set" the sear spring (compressit fully and let it rebound) before putting it in the valve....
You can also fit a Disco hammer spring.... but it will only really pay benefits at high pump numbers....
