Seems to me a long time ago I saw a barrel wrap which was like a shrink tube
Slide it onto the barrel apply heat and it would shrink to fit the barrel
I have been searching for this and I am unable to find any
My Crosman Nitro barrel is easily scratched and I would like to cover it
Does anybody know of a place selling this? |

| Why not just use shrink wrap. I remember a post that had pics where the person used shrink wrap and it even showed the end of the shrink wrap sticking off the end being shrunk more than the diameter of the barrel. |

What I saw before was camo shrink wrap
I was hoping to find a digital pattern close to the stock! |

| Maybe a camo wrap? It's got a light adhesive that bonds to the tape itself. Wrap it up with that for protection. |

I have used black vinyl tubing. You have to heat it so it will stretch - I use a pan of boiling water. (I keep the ends out of the water so none gets trapped inside.) Grease the barrel (KY "personal lubricant" works great, but a light synthetic/silicone grease will work too). Then work really hard to slide it on the barrel. Not camouflage, but black at least matches the rest of the gun.

I knew that was going to happen, but I mashed the "enter" button anyway (in the interest of science).
I've got the vinyl tubing on the G1, on the Slavia 631, and on the Mendoza RM577. I used a PTFE grease on one, a stick silicone grease on another, and then the KY. KY was the best. A little goes a long way, so you'll probably have some left over for other projects.
Macarri doesn't carry it. |
