| I see in some stores where they are selling reconditioned guns. The same gun would have a lifetime warranty but as a recondition only 30 days. Anyone have any experiences with "fixed" rifles? I was looking at the RWS 460 Magnum. |

| It depends a lot on who refurbished it and who is selling it. Example: Cabelas sells refurbished guns and they stand behind their sales so I would have no problem buying a refurbished gun from them again. There are people on Amazon dot com that say they are selling refurbished guns and other stuff but how do you know they aren't just saying that unless they have paper work and warranty from the manufacture saying the manufacture refurbished the gun. |

If it'd been refurbished, then it's been refurbished.!! The fact that if manufacturer does the refurbishing and then only puts a 30 day warranty on it tells me that it really isn't much of a warranty at all....I have never in my life bought anything because it had "a good warranty"...not ever !! There are lots of custom shops and individuals, some even on this forum, that I would positively put more faith in to repair one of my airguns than the manufacturer of that same said product..even if they offered ZERO WARRANTY...but, that's a matter of being just my opinion..and ya know what THAT is worth  |

That's very true..Goods that have been returned by customers also qualify as refurbished goods. In this instance, the refurbished product likely has nothing wrong with it at all. The item may have been returned for any number of reasons, including the fact that the customer simply changed his or her mind about the purchase. In cases where the returned item has obviously not been used, the store will usually simply reseal the packaging and sell the item at a discount as a refurbished good.
In cases where some shipping damage is involved, the manufacturer may choose to repair the item and then sell it as a repaired or refurbished product. Because the item is factory refurbished, the level of quality is often the same as a product that is sold as new.
Floor or demonstration models also qualify as refurbished products. This is due to the fact that the factory packaging was opened, and there is a good chance that the product has incurred a few small scratches during the time spent on display.....etc.
Even in situations where refurbished products are older models that have been revamped by a second trip to the factory, the level of quality will be comparable to a new item...The way I look at it,that just means the item was gone through "twice",which depending on who's doing it like donec said,can amount to extra QC...When in doubt,ask.If you have a highly refined B.S. detector,you can see who's legit,and who to avoid. |

I think your headed in the right direction.. Airgundepot,is a good company to do business with as well,my last order from them was at my door in 3 days flat...  Give em a call,or e-mail,and they'll answer all your questions on their products.In dealing with another very popular AG distributor,I never got return e-mails or calls when I asked specific questions...so of course they don't want my money I guess.....  |
