I agree that is quite achievement and shows what is possible. Would it be possible to post a link to where you got that information. I would like to know more about the situation in which that was done like the gun used, power of gun and pellet weight if such information available? |

Can't read dutch well enough any more since it has been 40 years since I learned it and used it. However! I used Google to translate the page and see that they were using high powered pcp rifles. This says to me that that is probably the best anyone will get from any air rifle and that I should consider 50 to 60 yards as quite long distance for the kind of guns I use. That may be the best that anyone can do with an air rifle, but I have hit from 100 yards with my Crosman 1760 SE in stock form. I can't do it over and over, but I have done it. I used cheap Crosman hollow points too.
I can shoot a lot more reliably from about 80 yards, so it seems that the limit for accuracy, at least with that rifle is between 80 and 100 yards. |

I originally read them on the Yellow forum, but could not find the posts there.
Harry Fuller aka Yrrah is quite a marksman. I have always been impressed by his shooting, and the ballistic feats themselves. Smallbore airguns are really not meant to reach past 100 yards. 2 1/2" is probably .5" for a centerfire. It would be amazing to see what he could do in perfect (indoor) conditions. |

Well, ony of the things you wanna do for long range shooting is buying good pellets.
Then you open the box and you'll start to sort them. Any of them that look a bit "different" are going back in the box. Then you'll check their size (also, length). After that, you'll check the weight and what's left of that should be washed and carefully dried. I think you could oil them too but I think it depends on the rifle you're using.
After that the only thing you need is a good rifle and a good scope. |
