I've noticed on the Diana 34 a clinking sound coming from rifle's bottom, from the metal arm on the front, bottom of the action. Unfortunately, don't have parts list so can't state part name but in the exploded view below, it is number 14:

Can hear metalic clink noise after closing barrel at end of cocking. Can also replicate noise simply by pushing up arm while rifle is level. It's almost as if the arm is loose or something.

Is this noise unimportant and simply how this rifle operates?

A small click? That's normal for me.

Was never even a problem. Never had a critter deny my injections because of it.

I think I've hear about this. It won't hurt anything, but you may be able to fabricate something if you look at it long enough to silence that sound.

It shouldn't hurt anything, but I know how you feel. That "clunk" is annoying, and one's first reaction is to think something is very loose. I had the same problem on my Mendoza. I made a pad out of a scrap of aluminum and a bit of computer mouse pad. It fits in there just tight enough to take out the slack, but not so tight that it stresses the mechanism:

Another approach might be to make thin shim washers for the pivot points. Aluminum soda cans and 2 litre bottles are good sources for material.

Say Slavianus, does the double cocking arm on your 631 do this too?

Did I tell I got a 631 here? It's not mine but I'm keeping it for a friend because he doesn't have the space. Mr. Green

It doesn't seem to have a clack like this. The HW90 ALSO has a double cocking arm.

I would actually base my choice for a springer if it has a double cocking arm or not. With some exceptions though. Neutral

The Slavia 631 (also the 630) has a steel leaf spring that wipes against the rear part of the articulated cocking arm, so the arm doesn't flop around:

The one I got right here only makes creaky noizes when cocked. I do wanna look into that sometime, but it still shoots as sharp as a shaving blade. Mr. Green

For those interested, here's a schematic more specific to the 34 that I received from Umarex USA. Asked them also for a corresponding part name list for tech support reasons but they haven't responded.

Guess you can't always get what you want; only what you need.

Umarex USA came through with a corresponding parts list for the exploded view. Part number 14 is called a "lever."

Kudos to their CS. Further evidence that buying the 34 was the right move. Thanks, fritz.

Just received a promo email from Pyramyd Air and noticed they now sell a 34 with a "two-stage adjustable TO6 trigger." Another vendor says a trigger this good isn't usually found in guns at this price range.

What's so good about it and how much better is than the trigger on 34s sold a few years ago? Just marketing hype or is it worth looking into as an upgrade?

I think Diana is trying to breah down Weihrauchs neck. Weihrauch produces the best triggers (in my opinion) on any "normal" priced airgun on the market, the Rekord trigger. They're both the biggest Airgun manufacturers in Germany, by name.

The only reason you guys don't say Weihrauch is because their airguns were sold as Beeman for years. Exclamation
