That ad...
Anyway... bow hunting is hard, but it can be done (We're here, aren't we?). Never actually been bow hunting, don't have the proper permits and such. |

havnt got a clue mate to be fair,
any way bows, i'm pretty accurate with a rifle but had a go of my neighbours compound bow and its proper hard to aim with it,
just shooting at hay bails is no drama but trying to hit a target the size of a can of pop at 15 yards is well hard ,
i havnt seen any gals like that at the range ha ha ha |

Soda cans at 15 yards is nothing. That's like a 35 yard target. Ever seen Byron Ferguson? (or however you spell his name?) He shoots asprins with a longbow at about 5 yards. 100% instinctive shooting. |

| I have a HW77 that's broken in. It shoots at 900ft/sec with .177 H&N pellets. It's unusually quiet compared to the RWS model 52. The accuracy is great too. I know that not all HW77 can hit this velocity, but if you are lucky to get one that does like mine. I wouldn't recommend the RWS 52 to anybody, it is a harsh and loud airgun. |

i just think its well hard to aim with a compound bow, i would imagine its even harder with a normal bow, cause the strain is always on your arm untill you release the wire. awesome |

With a compound, you can easily attach a set of iron sights. On the riser block goes a housing that holds 1 to 5 pins, which are adjusted for elevation and windage. On the string, is a small plastic hole that you sight through to align with the pin housing. Very easy, and accurate. Also, compound bows have a "letoff", from about 60-90% of the draw weight. IE you may only be holding 20lbs at full draw, with a 60lb peak weight.
With a long/recurve/whatever, there are no sights. You must learn to instinctively "be the arrow", and use a 6th sense to guide it on target. It can be learned, and can be very accurate. Those of us who have not yet achieved true archery zen, cannot do it. |

You can fit sights to longbows/recurves....
"Instinctive" shooting is learned the same way as throwing a ball (or a rock) to hit something.... look at the target (only) and shoot.... and shoot.... and shoot....

I can send .30 168gr boat tail hollowpoints into your head at 1,000 yards.
I win. |
