Anyway... bow hunting is hard, but it can be done (We're here, aren't we?). Soda cans at 15 yards is nothing. That's like a 35 yard target. Ever seen Byron Ferguson? (or however you spell his name?) It shoots at 900ft/sec with .177 H&N pellets. It's unusually quiet compared to the RWS model 52. The accuracy is great too. I know that not all HW77 can hit this velocity, but if you are lucky to get one that does like mine. On the riser block goes a housing that holds 1 to 5 pins, which are adjusted for elevation and windage. On the string, is a small plastic hole that you sight through to align with the pin housing. Very easy, and accurate. Also, compound bows have a "letoff", from about 60-90% of the draw weight. IE you may only be holding 20lbs at full draw, with a 60lb peak weight. With a long/recurve/whatever, there are no sights. You must learn to instinctively "be the arrow", and use a 6th sense to guide it on target. It can be learned, and can be very accurate. "Instinctive" shooting is learned the same way as throwing a ball (or a rock) to hit something.... look at the target (only) and shoot.... and shoot.... and shoot....
