A number of years ago at the SHOT show I saw a small company that was making compressed air powerletts. They were the same size as CO2 powerletts and they were re-fillable. The deal was you buy this pump and a set of powerletts and then you can refill your own. Also said to be better than CO2. Harder hitting, less wear on you seals, all that. Looked like they would be great on a Crosman 22xx type gun.
Has anybody else seen these? Did the company go belly up, or ar they still out there? |

Total waste of time.... CO2 is stored in a powerlet as a liquid and increases volume many fold when it evaporates, hence the relatively large shot count available from a powerlet....
The same volume of compressed air would produce only a fraction of the number of shots at a continually declining velocity.... Any claim of increased power would be as a result of pressures higher than CO2 and then you get into a safety concern as well....

That may well explain this company's failure. |

What about refillable 8/12/16 gram co2 cartridges? I mean refillable with co2? Ever seen? Comments? |

I've never seen any refillable ones.... you would need a check valve in the cartridge and then a fill adapter.... likely not worth the cost....

Thanks 4 the reply. Brocock makes something similar for AIR in the UK. Some have said it can be used with CO2. I've heard of others. Am trying to evaluate them all.
Thx. |
