How do I replace the breech seal on my B3 air rifle? Do I just pull it out? Or do I have to take the whole gun apart? Apologies, I overlooked your previous thread I guess. I think you'll want to take the end-cap off first. Do this with caution because I have no idea how much tension is on there, but the spring pushes against the end-cap. It's not a high powered springer but still. When you figured that out (real good experience for any other springer btw), you'll be able to take the spring and piston out. The piston seal is of course located at the end of the piston that goes into the piston housing. I think you have to pry these off if you want to exchange them with a new one but I'm not really sure. Should be filled with goo. A good tip for when you get springers with more power is to build a spring compressor. It's a contraption that makes it easyer to take the gun apart and to put it back together. If it's the underlever B3/B4, you want to take the barrel/barrel block off the breech, or have the rifle held firmly in a jig or by another person so that if something gives way when you're in there digging the seal out the loading door doesn't snap shut and cut your finger(s) off. Although, that is good info for the future. So I basically just need to make sure that the rifle is held securely, and then pry the old seal out and push the new one in. Right? Thanks guys. I'm officially pissed. I put the new seal in, and now the under-lever won't lock back into place. It's like it has to much tension. ARGH! It's loose like, when I cock it, load a pellet, and then attempt to return the lever to it's holding place under the barrel, it won't snap into the little holder. It reaches the holder, but it won't stay in the holder. You can snap it in, and then it'll pop out. It's firing really well. Alot of these rifles came from the factory with the problem you're describing right out-of-the-box; loose cocking arm. As far as I can remember, getting it so it would stay up in the retainer clip involved tightening something at the pivot end. I can't seem to remember exactly what at the moment- once I got rid of all the low-end 'B' models I think I intentionally forgot everything (I sold a bunch of them and they became such a problem (cheaply made) I almost developed ulcers- so I stopped). Can you post a picture of where the cocking arm attaches? This might help. _________________ ` I'd say "I care." But I'd be lying.
