Well, once I pumped my Crosman 764SB Pumpmaster that has a max BB velocity of 625 fps to 1 pump only, since when I'd shoot it from 10 feet or maybe even closer, the BB would drop considerably. I also would shoot it from 20 feet or so and I'd have to aim up and I could hear a low thump as the BB thudded off the cardboard box I shoot.

So anyway, with that 1 pump, I aimed the gun directly at my foot and shot. I was using Copperhead BBs , btw. Anyway it felt like a sting at first, then a dullish pain. It turns out I got myslef right on the big toe's middle joint. And rmeember, I was wearing extremely think Clima-Cool shoes designed for running in the summer, and the temperature was like 30 degress Fahrenheit.

It hurt, but no that bad. No, I didnt cry, it was only a few years back, when I was beyond the crying-at-every-little-pain phase.

But it WAS very stupid. I've learned never to do that again.

Am I the only one that shot the TV?

If nobody else has taken aim at an old refridgerator size 1970's Zenith...while setting in the living room...playing, I'll share my story.

But other wise, if you've heard one "I shot the TV" story...you've heard them all.

My Dad preached gun safety like it was a religion, so I haven't done too many stupid things. I do remember shooting a steel fence post once and having the BB bounce back and hit me right between the eyes. That scared me enough that I have been mostly careful ever since.

More recently, I bought a Umarex PPK replica, only because it looks almost exactly like my Firestorm .380 and I just couldn't resist. Anyway, when I first got it (the Umarex, not the .380) I walked out into the back yard and opened fire on a steel trash barrel. I think I fired 5 or 10 shots before I realized that the trash can was shooting back! Most of my BB's came straight back at me and hit me in the chest. It was then that I remembered the fence post experience. Rolling Eyes

13 or so years old. Shot the window of a backhoe that was in the neighborhood for some construction, which shattered and fell out completely.

Ran home, hid the gun, waited at the window for the owners to return. When they did, I was overwhelmed. Walked the long walk and confessed my crime. They billed my dad, who setup a repayment plan for me. Longest $40 I've ever earned.

Somehow, I kept the gun. Smile

(I'm 34 now, and my son shoots the same gun.)

When I was about 7 years old I shot my sister in her ankle. I also shot her friend Brooke's 3ft wide rearend when she was bending over. They shouldn't have ambushed me in the bathroom.

close to 3 years ago my buddy and i were sitting down in the basement shooting our co2 pistols. Demonstrating my excellent gun safety i was handing a gun to my friend, with no clip, and i thought no round chambered. He flinched when it was pointed towards his leg, so to demonstrate the cleared gun i laughed and pulled the trigger. the last round of the previous clip shot him square between the eyes at point blank range. Shocked

When I was a kid my brother shot me in the leg with a BB gun that had the insides of the barrel removed and no BB's in it. Upon investigation by my parents they decided it was just some dirt or waste that hit me. Oh by the way the rifle was also uncocked.

Not necessarily stupid but certainly ridiculous! I got my first BB gun when I was, I think, 5 years old; in any case, too young/weak to cock it normally. I had to put the end of the barrel on the ground (or on my toe, to keep dirt out of the barrel) and push down on the lever to get it cocked. As you might expect, that put the lever pretty close to my crotch and, sure enough, my hand slipped off the lever one day and it, not yet being fully cocked, snapped back and *severely* pinched the plumbing. Fortunately, I was alone at the time so I didn't have to suffer embarrassment in addition to pain.
