| Before christmas I went to walmart and bought a beeman 1073. It wasn't shooting to hot when I bought it but I figured it was the pellets. So I bought 14 different containers of pellets just for the hell of it to try them all and they all shot horribly. At this point I knew it was the gun so i took it back and ordered a gamo whisper deluxe last night. Does anyone else have anu experience with the beeman 1073's |

Just got one. It seems just fine. Shoots great.
Maybe you got a defective one?
Looks like a very good quality item, especially for the $$. |

| It's always possible to get a POS, especially with Chinese quality control. Unfortunately, it looks like Beeman, if and when they ever start shipping product again, will only have Chinese product (they've been bought by BAM/Shanghai Airgun Factory). |

| I had almost exactly the same experience with my 1073. It was shooting alright with JSB pellets once in a while with the .177 barrel. It seemed like it would shoot a nice tight group for 5 or 10 shots and then the group would move or simply spread out to like 12 inches. The last straw was when it started getting harder and harder to break over the barrel, like the little ball-latch thing that holds it closed was messed up. So I decided to get away from springs entirely and ordered a Crosman Co2 gun today (I have a thread about it here). As for you're new Gamo, you will probably be quite happy with it. My Father swears by Gamo rifles, he doesn't have a whisper yet but he loves his CFX and Big Cat. |

Yup. The scope messed up today after just about 100 shots. Won't hold zero.
Either I'm getting another scope or the gun going back to Wally World.
Maybe I start my search for a gun again.
I think the gun is OK but the scope can't handle a springer. (needed loctited down) |

Will continue to update progress here.
.22 barrel shoots very well(Daisy Precision Max flat pellets)
.177 barrel is squirrelly but might be the Daisy Precision Max pointed pellets...nasty!)
Will try .177 barrel with better pellets. |

| Wallyworld also carries the Storm XT (.177) II one I had was very accurate and would do around 900fps...I sold it only because it was just too big for me..too long, and too heavy (for me) I think it was $109.99 |

My 1073 gave me fits until I realized the scope was moving. After reading some threads on this forum I found out about Loctite and one- piece mounts. Handled that and now it shoots like a dream. I've taken squirrels with head shots as far out as 47 yds. I only use the .22 cal. because I like shock factor it gives me. I practice out to 90 yds with it.

I cleaned up the crown and the breach end of the barrel(s). I Locktited the scope mounts.
Shoots like a champ now.
Actually very good.
With an arm rest only I shot a quarter-sized group at 30 feet. With a real rest I'm betting dime-sized with some tacks.
