What happened to Brutuz?

You got a nice product there, if it works. However, I see Bob's points to be far more valid. Your taking offense to the questioning, leads to believe it may not be all green grass and high tides... should these claims be true then you would be more than happy to explain, especially to potential purchasers (if Eric does allow you to sell your wares on this board).

Safety is the number one concern on this board. Never, would a product that is unsafe be allowed.

Every time I try to be sociable there's always somebody with a hand full of rocks just needing to throw them at somebody else. Put the rocks down for a second, start at the beginning where you'll find a link to a video that will support the as you say, "wild claims". You probablly won't believe the video either.

I was hoping not to entertain past negativity but since you chose to bring up a who did what to whom and for what reason, I will set the record straight. The fact is, I was blocked from the site for, as he said, displaying a potentially dangerous item, like an airgun products. Go figure, but it's his site and he chooses the censorship. It's the same potentially dangerous item that has the full endorsement of Rick Eustler @ AirgunWeb.com

I can't wait for the review

I agree with you completely. Safty is first and foremost is this dicipline. I have spent over 4 months and numerous hours developing this thing. I have assembled and disassembled my gun 113 times over the past 12 months and have gone through 4 complete sets of screws in the last 4. I improved it as I designed it. It's not just something I made one day and decided I can make and sale it to anybody with a 2240. From wall thickness to the thread I have tested tested retested air pressure tested and hydro tested at my own expense.

You weren't asking how I made it work. You were suggesting ways to make it work and things I should consider; all of which I had through the 4 months of development. I tested the breaking pressure of the valve screw, busted two valve bodies doing it. The first test was fine but I did another to cancel out mistakes. There's a hand-cut seal that comes with the PM. I tested over 12 types of rubber seals to replace the factory red-rubber valve seal before I redesigned the nipple end of the cylinder. and had to remove the valve every time it blew out. The factory seal will hold to about 1600psi, after that it blows like having an air-knot in a tire. I have a custom cut seal (2) that come with every PM. The seal is necessary if you want to get above 1600psi.

If you would like to know how i solved a problem I'll be more than happy to open my brain. Maybe I should say "share", before some somebody has something smart to say for no reason what-so-ever.

Since you're speaking for the collective I guess that's good enough for me too. Never met him but I'm sure I can take your word for it.

I'm just a thinker and tinker... Bob is the mad scientist...

Safety is the #1 thing here... I concur with Bob on reinforcing the valve mounting... Last thing we want to read about is someone getting hurt or law suits against someone who is just trying to make products to mod our favie air guns...

The product may be top rate... but the gun you're making and marketing for is not designed for that kind of force against the stock valve mounting...

Please don't take Bob's comments as knocking your product, but rather as wise counsel. He is one of the best sounding boards to bounce ideas off of when it comes down to these guns.

P.S.
AGH is unlike no other forum out there... The Green, Yellow and others are more Drama filled than I care to deal with... AGH is more laid back and a lot less defensive than any other forum I have found...

I'm a big fan of the B.S. section... all the B.S. you can handle and not get any on ya.... Wink

Just so there's no confusion on this: Bob spends a good deal of time experimenting and testing, and testing, and testing. It's in the diligence of the testing that allows for the proof of concept and operational ability of things. In respect to HPA, he has experimented exhaustively with different configurations, pressures and bulk-feed ideas. His experiments, as well as some basic math/physics have shown that that single screw hold 22xx valves in place just isn't adequate.

Crosman's engineers apparently also concurred with this idea when they put 3 (three) valve retention screws on the Discovery (basically a modified 22xx style platform) to withstand a 2000psi fill pressure. Joe also agrees.

As such, I think you could have a potential lawsuit on your hands if/when that single screw shears and someone has a pile of steel sticking out of their hand (or head). You may want to consider advising in whatever instructions come with the kit that drilling the tube and valve for better retention is required, or at the very least "strongly advised".

Nobody's bs-ing you here- but trying to help avoid what could potentially be a big problem. I don't think anyone doubts the functionality of the device.
