| This is kinda a spin off my other post (http://airgunhome.com/agforum/viewtopic.php?p=46832#46832). Is the meat around the pellet entry point safe to eat once it is cleaned out? It seems obvious that there is a possibility for pellet fragments to be in there still, although I didn't see any. What do you guys do? This guy was killed about a month ago, and I just hacked the section off to be safe. |

DISCLAIMER:
This post should in no way be considered advice on what you should or should not consume. I am not a scientist nor a member of the science/medical community.
This post is nothing more than the ramblings of a not so young individual.
I am not advising anyone to consume game taken with a lead projectile.
If you are concerned about the safety of game taken with lead projectile you should contact an expert in the medical/scientific community.
That being taken care of...
Game has been taken with lead projectiles and consumed for centuries.
Many a duck have made their way to the dinner table by way of the shotgun where, try as you may, not every piece of shot gets removed. Never knew anyone to suffer negative effects of eating such game.
Of course that was before we had the government to protect us.
Back when eggs and bacon was good healthy breakfast, when a healthy meal wasn't complete w/o piece of red meat, when kids rode their bicycles without helmets, played tackle football in the dirt lot without pads, when a boy of appropriate age had a pocket knife and got his first .22 rimfire for his 10th birthday.
Back when personal responsibility was taken for granted and you could answer a question without having to start the conversation with a legal disclaimer in an attempt to avoid being sued. |
