Can I shoot slow enough with a 22 talon ss to hit a bird 20yds away with only 3 ft lbs of energy? at least enough to enter the bird and just barely exit, or not exit at all.
This is to unintentional property damage. |

A Talon SS would probably make a sparrow turn into a puff of feathers.
3fpe at 100 yards? You could tune it down, but that isn't the point of having a Talon in the first place. If you're looking to spend that kind of money for 20 yards on tweetie-birds, then look at the Air Force Edge.
Probably shouldn't be shooting in a direction you can damage property in the first place. But I didn't see anything happen, ya hear? |

they don't exit. |

| I've shish-ke-bobbed mice to a wood hayloft floor with a blowgun out of boredom. Does this help? |

First thing you'll need to do is get a chrony, you're going to need accurate fps numbers to figure it. or buy a stock 2240 for $49.95 |

I like 2 FPE for sparrows,and another 20-30 for back up.......you know.."just in case"...........
Seriously though,Pack's idea of the 2240,can't steer you wrong...or pick up a 1377 pumper...they work on sparrows........ |

I agree with the 2240 idea. THey are arguably the best pistol in the under $200 range and they last forever with proper care. My original 2240 has outlasted two wives and is still going on the third. lol |

| 2fpe is blow gun range! Killin critters with a blow gun is way more rewarding than a rifle! |

I calculated my slingshot (after a proper chrony of course) to be around 4 fpe...it drops birds like rocks...those big round slingshot balls are HEAVY. |

when i was in highschool a friend killed a good sized black bird with one.
it dropped. i think i'm due for a slingshot and blowgun.
what does sling "shot" weigh? i'd think 40-50 grains |

| I made a Gnarly blow gun at work one day, 1/2" ss tubing about 40" long, sharpend piece of .035 ss filler rod stuck through a soft orange ear plug, It was surprisingly accurate, and buried so deep into the 1/2 plywood shiping crate you couldnt pull it out with your bare hand. Never actually hunted with it, but im sure it would have gotten the job done |

With 2 or 3 fpe the fps will be SO slow that it will not fly
stright..I would say it will head for the ground the moment it
exits the barrel...so the POI shift will be quit large at diffrent
distances...
Buy a cheap Co2 5fpe target rifle...
I think you could almost throw a pellet at 2 fpe...

It arcs of course, but not nearly as bad as it seems you think. And as long as the arc is predictable, its easy to compensate. |
