You sound about like me. After this last batch when they scraped past my drive, it all hardened up and I just about had to use a pickaxe to get through it. Ugh.

The Waseca Utilities record is five times in one day. I've been keeping score. That was three times in one hour, and then they slacked off. You're right - you have to get on that stuff right away or it freezes solid.

And just for the merriment of you California guys - "she who must be obeyed" got me a roof rake. This is a plastic shovel with a 40' handle used to prevent excess loading and ice dams. I had to use snowshoes to walk in my own #$%^@ yard. So there I am, standing on snowshoes, working this totally awkward tool with my arms over my head, and snow rolling down the roof onto my "red beanie hat." (Alstone's term.) The wife is helping by chortling on the warm side of the window.

Statistics say March is the snowiest month in Minnesota, and tradition dictates that we get a massive dump the weekend of the state basketball tournament. Oddtodd, scroller99, et.al., remind me again why we live here?

So we don't have earthquakes or hurricanes to deal with. We just have snow and tornados. lol Oh BTW these northern girls are a lot more fun!!! Adult Content

I know I keep editing this topic because I keep remembering different things.

I already had my worst month of snow. That's February for us. We had 31 inches of snowpack at one point. It was so thick that my tracker only sunk about 6 inches or so in that stuff. However, I got my tractor stuck till spring thaw. I didn't realize that my creek had partially drifted over and I dropped the front wheels right into the creekbed. no matter what I did that thing is buried. I never hit dirt with the drive wheels though.

True to a point. If you move the blanket(s) a little too much and break the seal on that heat bubble then romance ain't got no chance.

OK snipper I knew you would be chiming in on how warm you are out there, but you haven't heard any tales of me in a pink teddy on this coast either Mr. Green but I guess all that lace must be cooler in those hot climates

Who could forget that year!? 75F on Chirstmas day, by the day after new years, it was -20 with windchills around -60 and over two feet of snow on the ground. Chicago basically shut down.

Well, yesterday I officially said goodbye to winter as we'd had about a week of brilliant sunshine, 75+ degree weather...spring was in the air.

This morning I get up, get my boots on for my daily 5 mile walk, open the front door...

Two inches of snow and it looked like an effing blizzard.

It's one of the hardest things for me to get used to after moving to the US from England. You can go to bed and it's 20 degrees outside so you turn on the heating, put an extra couple blankets on the bed...and wake up feeling like you slept in the microwave because it's suddenly 95 degrees outside.
