Some examples: Quest and Gamo trigger guards (as mentioned) Your car screwdrivers (actually some sort of powdered metal- but they could just as easily be plastic, @#$#% pieces of crap) 80% of kitchen utensils virtually every kids' toy _________________ ` I'd say "I care." What made you want to "srew" with it in the first place ? How would metal be any better..lighter weight? more accurate? less expensive ? It is now 2010, entire GUNS are made of plastic. In other words, it's not a big deal.I have 2 Crosman pistols that have plastic breeches! They work just as good as a metal one, and are a hell of a lot better when it comes time to remove the bolt _________________ HEY !! Steel, yes...Wood, no. I love a pretty walnut stock as much as anyone, but I also love the 'synthetic polymer' stocks on my 22LR and my 17HMR. They're lighter, easier to take care of and just as tough. If I'm going to the range to shoot paper, the Walnut or mahogany is great.
