| Slavia. Euro made, better quality, I think more rare too. |

Lol, then don't ask!
The Slavia does need a good lubing and tuning though. Executed correctly it looks great. |

It's a bit of an apples-to-oranges comparison, really. Well, maybe more Granny Smith Apples to Green Delicious Apples- but you get the idea.
The Slavia is a .177 and comes by itself in the box. Really more target-oriented than hunting (unless birds are your thing)- the Benjamin Classic is a .22 with a decent scope in the box and oriented more towards hunting small critters. |

Thanks Eric...I'm scrounging up some cash to order from you. I've got to sell off some of my Hunting knife collection first.
I actually quit shooting critters in '92.
I Just blast paper & bottles these days. Cheers Dan |

| Something that might be worth mentioning if you want one- there is only a limited number of Slavia's available. Both the US and Canadian importers have stopped bringing them in because they thought the pricing was too high and they couldn't make a good buck at it. Unfortunately, each holds the respective "exclusive" contract for each country for the entire CZ Brno line (i.e. airguns and firearms)- so as long as they still buy alot of firearms, CZ is not shopping for any new distributors for the airguns. |

I talked to a CZ rep a couple of years ago. He said if you have to pay for shipping and warehousing, why stock a low margin/low dollar item when a higher margin/higher price box takes up the same space?
I bet they could make that up with volume if they advertised velocities with 1 grain styrofoam pellets and then made a video of a Slavia killing a wild Czech boar.
I have the 631 (same action as the 630). It is very accurate, smooth, and well built. It is also pretty slow, and CZ parts support doesn't exist. I wouldn't trade it in spite of those drawbacks.
Eric is right; it depends on your intended purpose. |

Actually, I'm happy with my little arsenal. I'm after a higher quality "plinker" just for the joy of variety.
My obsessive/compulsive disorder is keeping me broke & happy with a big/full toybox. Cheers! |

I'd go for the Slavia. I've had a 630 for a couple of years now and it has become my favorite all-round gun.
Firstly the finish is very good. I've compared them side by side with a Diana 240 and a Weihrauch HW30 (both in nonPal form) and the fit and finish is a wash in my eyes. The Diana is $50 more than the 630 and the Weihrauch $100 more.
The trigger on the Slavia is smooth as butter and can be adjusted down to the proverbial 'hair trigger'. It has a very intuitive auto safety which is great...I have my trigger adjusted down to about 1.5 lbs and it's a simple matter to push the safety in with your thumb just as you start to release the trigger.
It is very easy to cock...you can shoot it all day and not be the worse for wear.
Finally (and a big finally IMO)...once worn in, off the bench it is damned near as accurate as my Avanti 853c with it's Lothar Walther barrel that is worth more than the entire Slavia.
As my supplier says (D&L in Canada) they just don't sell because most people spending nearly $200 want power, not quality.
To bad...in my opionion it's a steal at the price. |

Well if you're exclusively plinking, then .177 is the obvious choice.
If you can get a Slavia... try to get it, but I have a feeling you'll end up with the Benjamin. |
