Pistol - Crossman 1377
Score: 79
Sights: Open
Time: 8:30
Pellet: Daisy Wadcutter
My first time shooting targets in...ever. First time shooting an air rifle since I was a kid. I just saw the 1377 @ a low price and decent reviews so picked it up. Just got it yesterday; I'm pretty happy w/it so far...seems pretty accurate, definitely limited by my skills at this point. I was bummed out 'bout my RWS 350 which was back ordered by Cabela, subsequently being discontinued and order canceled, so I got this pistol on the rebound
Crono'd it @ 515fps, but seems it just can't make a clean punch in paper. Paper is outside in sub freezing temp, so maybe that makes a difference. |

Should I take my xanax tomorrow morning and try again? lol
I really don't think it's fair though. I'd rather it would me than the drugs. |

Not the steadist of shooters, I have a hard time believing I put two through one hole usually. The Rifle seemed easier than pistol, though I rarely shoot offhand w/ one. Just more of a bench shooter, I am, I guess. I tried to jot all the necessary info down on the targets.
In case you are wondering, "The Peak" wadcutters are chinese pellets offered by Archer Airguns. Was *the* first time I shot them. I had to "bench" the CZ since I took the scope off and verify the Beeman Aperture rear for POA/POI so I just used them... |

Very surprised that my rifle shoot beat my pistol shoot in this one. (what that means to me is that I need to spend some quality time with the pistols). Since I'm still limited to inside shooting (too much snow) I might swap a scope to the edgun that will focus down down to 10m and see what I can do for the next match. Depends upon the target too
Rifle shoot:
gun: Talon 6-24x50 Centerpoint (Shorty)
Pellet: Gamo Match Wad .177
Dist/Pos: 10m / Standing / Offhand
Score 195/220
Time ~ 6 Min.
Pistol shoot:gun: 2300 2-7 BSA Pistol Scope
Pellet: Gamo Match Wad .177
Dist/Pos: 5m / Standing / 2 Hand
Score 180/220
Time ~ 8 Min

Decided to try out my PFT pistol this week as well, kind of weird shooting off-hand with the scope, but good to learn I guess.......
I also finished making a knee-riser for my S410 and used that as well for a hand grip, seems to work quite well. I have plans to try and make a piece that is formed to my hand for off-hand shooting, could be a fun project.......
Pistol Entry
Gun: Custom 1377 ("Snoopy" a.k.a. The Red Baron, my PFT gun)
Scope: Leapers BugBuster 3-9x32mm
Pellet: Air Arms (JSB) Diablo 10.34gr @ 8pumps
Time: 12M 38S
Score: 178/220
Rifle Entry
Gun: Air Arms S410 Xtra FAC MPR FT
Scope: Leapers 6-24x50mm
Pellet: Air Arms (JSB) Diablo 10.34gr @ lowest power
Time: 13M 12S
Score: 206/220
Cheers,
-Joel.G |
