I have jus fitted an X-Verminator gun lamp to my rifle but the problem im havin is when i look through the scope all i can see is the glare of the light off the sight on the end of the barrel,how do i stop this,do i need higher mounts for my scope or is it possible to remove the sight from the barrel and replace with some kind of silencer,if this is the case how do i remove the sight,the rifle is an smkxs19,many thanks.

Higher mounts for the scope would help. All of the B1x-platform guns have some front sight interference with scopes that are too low. In the case of the Crosman versions of it- a scope with standard mounts allows a green shadow to appear in the scope when light hits the green front sight at the right angle. I don't know if your problem is just reflecting light or you can actually 'see' the front sight in the scope- i.e. interference. If it's just a reflection- try putting something dark and not reflective over the sight to see what happens (i.e. like black 'athletic' tape you would use on a hockey stick or such).

You can remove the front sight- you need to apply heat to it (like with a hair dryer or such) and pull it off- perhaps using some sort of frame or puller to avoid damaging or scratching something. You can put on a silencer or brake- but it would have to be a slip-on fit with a grub screw type mounting, or you will have to put threads on the end of the barrel for a screw-on unit.

THe only lamp i ever had on one of my guns it was under the barrel and forward of the front of the scope ..

Tried heating it almost to the point of it melting then pulled on it like a madman but it just wasnt budging so i decided to just cut the sight part of it off with a hacksaw,crude i know but least the lamp works now with no interference,when i eventually do manage to get the piece off can i just use it with the end of the barrel bare or does it 'need' to have some device on the end,like a silencer?Many thanks.

It's been awhile since I've had the front sight off- but from what I recall, you don't "need" anything for the barrel to stay centered. That being said, a brake or silencer might be nice for cosmetics and balance(?).

Lauchlin also raises a good point- where is your light mounted? Usually they get place on the underside of the barrel/tube so interference isn't possible, or on the side of a multi-mount rail.
