Hi just got my 22xx thing finished...
nothing to clever just a 14" .177 barrel
& steel breech... But the Co2 is a waist of time.. Rolling Eyes
so I intend to hang a tank on the rear to
double as a stock...To get a 13ci tank/reg I need to
import...$$$$$$..There are 13ci tanks for sale here
for paint ball guns..but they have 850psi regs..
now what sort of FPS is possable at 850psi... Question
600/650fps Question Question Question
"pellet dependent off course"......

Why don't you try one and see? Should work well regulated at a low pressure. Lots of shots with low deviation.

The very first version I did of my 22XX PCP was using a hand pumped CO2 bottle at just 1000 psi.... with a Disco valve with the exhaust port and transfer & barrel ports opened up but nothing fancy.... It started with 14.3 gr. at 678 fps and dropped 15 fps by the time the pressure was down to 950.... I'm guessing it would be about 630ish at 850 psi in .22 cal.... with a 14" barrel....

I would leave the valve and ports stock (at least initially) in .177.... and I would think you would be well over 700 fps on 850 psi....

Paintball tanks for CO2 have the same valve as the output of a regulator (I guess it's actually the other way around, the CO2 came first).... It's 1/2" NPS - 14 thread (sometimes called 0.825 x 14) with a reduced diameter front section sealed by an O-ring and they usually have a "pin valve" in the center of the end.... depress the pin to open....

CO2 tanks are rated at 1800 psi maximum and have a 3K burst disc installed.... The 9ox. tank is 2 to 2.125" diameter depending on manufacturer.... The 13 - 22 cu.in. 3000 psi HPA tanks are 2.0" OD....
