| My friend recently bought a Sea Lion pellet gun.It has Chinese writing on it.It's a breach load and barrel cock spring rifle. It seems to be fair quality unit.Fairly accurate at 25yrds with the iron sights that come with it.At 15yrds it will drive a pointed tip pellet 1/2 inch into dried red oak log end.Does anyone know any thing about these guns? Are they worth the $20 we gave for it? |

They are a Bam B3 underlever 650fps.....

| I would say any rifle that shoots and looks safe, clean and decent is worth more than $20.00 of course you have to consider the safety issues as with any gun but air guns are not going to blowup in your face like a powder gun can. I felt excited when we got an AccuAir Force with a scope for $49.00 new and have been surprised at the quality it shows. So when they say you get what you pay for this is not always true sometimes you can get a great bargain that is much better than what you paid for it. Hopefully you will find your Sea Lion is a great deal like that, especially since you don't have far to go to be pleased with that price. BTW Sea Lion is a great name for a gun and the logo probably looks great. How about some pics? |

I only have a phone cam.Sorry for the crappy pics.Kids lost the good digi cam.
This is my friends Daisy 880 on top and the Sea Lion on bottom.I also have a Daisy 880 but mine is in better condition. Both have the full metal reciever and pump.
Same thing with the Sea Lion in the cock and load position.
Here's the best shot I could get of the logo. This gun doesn't have a safety.

Considering Polymags cost nearly 20 bux a tin, i would say you got an extremely good deal!
20$ doesnt buy much these days! maybe 6 gallons of gas, a pizza, you can even get 2 movie tickets for 20 anymore.
So i would have most definetly thrown down and Andrew Jackson for that gun! |

WELL....It would apair that its not only the B3 underlever that comes out under the Sealion brand.....BUT the B2-1 aswell...
THATS A B2-1....I have one rebranded as a Stirling"diffrent stock"
neat wee plinkers.....
But haveing a good look at the pic...Just maybe its a B1 with a B2-1 stock
Fore site & rear tube cap are the same as a B1...& stock is the same as the B2-1....there's no cocking latch so its not a B2-1 action...
I would say its a B1 action in a B2-1 stock.....Who knows...
Normaly...."Indestry brand"..Made by the Shanghi air gun company

B1 ... 620fps
Fpe depends on pellet weight...
Eg...8 grain pellet @ 550fps = 5.3fpe..

What is the equation that's used to come up with fpe?I have never full understood how to get fpe numbers.
I really should consider purchasing a chronograph. |

E=m*(v^2)/450240
E is the kinetic energy in foot pounds, hence FPE
m is the mass of the (lead) projectile in grains
v is the velocity in feet per second
Or, you could just go here:

Thanks.That helps a lot. |
