Im not sure but the Marauder seems to be on the loud side.
It also seems to get louder when I drop below 1800 psi,is that normal.
Also some shots are not as loud as others???
Check the pic
The hole there I have pointed to,is that where the air comes out when you fire?
What is the allen adjust there for as well? |

there is no air that comes out there, at all.
i think it's the set screw for the bolt. mine
always makes the same sound...... nothing....
i'm dry firing it as i sit here and clapping my hands
is louder.
all it makes is a "ping".
if you were 15 feet down range and someone shot it past you
you wouldn't here a thing.(my wife and i did this). |

take off the barrel cap and see what the baffles look like.
there are 4.
there will be an o-ring from the cap to the outer baffle. |

I figured it out, when I brought the bold back I was not twisting it down.
It was up and this air came through the side.
When the bolt is brought down it covers the hole.
I just dry fired it with the bold when I should be and its quit and no air comes out.

On the plus side I almost sighted it in before dark.
Should have it 100% by noon Sat.
One more very stupid question.
I can dry fire it all I want without doing damage to it right?? |

that's why they're called "bolt" action son.
dry firing will never hurt a pcp.
you're just discharging air without lead.
yes, as much as you want.
let us know what pellets yours likes. 5 in one hole at 25 yeards rested
should be no problem. i can hit spent 12ga shells at 60 yards with mine. |

Actually, no, dry firing isn't THAT good for a PCP, especially with high power PCP's. I'm not exactly sure why, but I am sure that I have read a couple of years ago from two or three explanations as to why this can't be good. |

That sounds like a hell of an experiment. Try discharging a shotgun shell by striking the firing cap. |

I would be happier with about 300 yards, not including the 300 yards between me and the former friend I talked into doing it. |

| Have you seen the silencer mod? Not sure if he's on here but the guy goes by the name of RBolton6 over on another forum (http://marauderairrifle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=305) I gave it a try, it was an easy install but I'm not sure if it made any difference, still evaluating it. Cool tip though. |
