I've gotten the OK from my wife to get another gun. After doing alot of research and reading, I've decided on the 850 airmagnum. After seeing the new Crosman offerings for 2010 (the Benjamin NPSS) it kind of made my decision a little harder. I've read nothing but good things here about the 850 and it looks like it is highly customizable. I figure this gun should be good enough for the occasional tree rat but will excel at plinking.

The first mod will be to convert it to a bulk CO2 set-up using an adapter from Brian and Associates. http://www.bryanandac.com/RWS850.jpg

That 7 oz. tank is neat.... but for a lot less money you can get a 9 oz. tank that will fit.... check out this page:

The stuff there at RAP4 is kind of pricey, but they are more geared towards Mil-Sim products. I like the 200 gram refillable, but can really justify spending $80 for less shots. I didnt know if there were any other sources for CO2 bottle but I have had these guys bookmarked for a while.

A very good setup though. I owned that for a while, and I moved up simply because someone offered me enough bang for it.

I still can't make up my mind. The ease and convince of having the piston guns, without the hassle of refilling bottles and the fact that they are quiet, or the 850. Im probably going ot settle on 850 because I like to tinker and upgrade stuff, and the 850 looks like there are a ton of mods for it. Where as the piston poppers are pretty much set out of the box.

Well, you can hardly go wrong with the 850, the quality is pretty good. If you're gonna up the power, then you wanna go for a .22.

I just talked to Roald from the850store.com. He was really willing to talk with me and sold me on the 850. Really nice guy, told me to give him a call if I ever had any questions.

Roald's a good salesman, and a nice guy from what I've talked about. He gave me some good tips on tuning the 850, but in the end I sold the gun and got an Air Arms S400. Mr. Green
