| I'm in love with my new Marauder but not crazy about the micro reservoir fill gauge they used. It's hard to read and in my case seems to be off by a good 100-150 psi from my SCBA liquid filled fill adapter gauge. Is it just me or does anyone else feel the need for a better gauge? Has anyone seen a better 1" micro gauge that offers more sweep/better resolution? I've come across many 1.5" gauges but that would require cutting the stock which I'm not up for just yet. Thanks. i agree the gauge could be bigger. i have no problem filling from my unregulated tank. i've learned where to fill it to for a tight velocity spread
so i'll leave it alone. |

I doesn't need to be bigger.... just a 270 degree scale with 100 psi increments.... at least for the Disco, anyway.... At least they are better than the idiotic 6000 psi 1" gauges with about 90 degrees of travel you find on most HPA tanks....

Hey Rsterne, Your right, it definately doesn't have to be bigger just one with a larger dial arc with 100 psi increments. Well, after searching the internet for awhile I have found two possible canidates.
#1) This is a 1" compact gauge that should drop right in, just haven't checked the overall height of the OEM unit yet. I think it has a 180^ dial arc with 100psi increments, need to check with the manufacturer to double check. Has an accuracy rating of grade B (+/- 3-2-3%). http://dwyerinstruments.dirxion.com/WebProject.asp?CodeId=7.1.2.1#
#2) This is a 1-1/4" gauge that would require a little clearancing. It has a 165^ dial arc with 100psi increments. This gauge has an accuracy of +/- 2% at setpoint. http://www.ashcroft.com/products/pressure_gauges/commercial/Type-12DDG-15DDG-Gauges.cfm#
The search continues. |

Yup- link is not good.
And just to throw it in- I HATE companies that think putting a copy of their print catalog online makes for a decent website- some people really need to get a handle on "searching" and proper web content. |

Well that doesn't work either, WTF this place. You'll have to look up the series SGC yourself once you get to home page, http://www.dwyer-inst.com/ |

| I found the correct gauges- but the page bogged the browser down. That website really does suck- and I wrote them some feedback to let them know it is, without a doubt, the worst "online" catalog I have come across in years. |

Found the SGC gauges.... but where did you find that the 3000 psi gauge has 100 psi increments.... I could not find the increments listed for the various pressure ranges....

That "1-1/4" inch option listed above is actually 1.45". The 1-1/4 is the diameter of the dial, not the overall diameter.
The only legitimate 1" gauge that I have found was made by Wika, but it appears to be a special order thing for somebody because I cannot find any refernce to it in the Wika catalogs. I have not called them, but I think I will
I sent an email to a company in the UK that specializes in 23mm gauges and asked if they would give me a qoute on a run of special order gauges with a 240 degree sweep. They replied that they couldn't make one with more than 105 degree sweep, BUT they could put my company logo on it
It never ceases to amaze me how the simplist things become the quest for the Grail.

I also found this:
http://www.pressuregauges.com.cn/minigauge.htm
If you look at the materials used, these appear to be good quality, but who knows? Generally, dealing with a chinese manufacturer means a minimum order of 1000 units. You could probably get them for $1.50 each though with your logo on the face. |

Did you see the accuracy rating? +/- 8/5/8 % |

| Ok, so I contacted the technical support department at Dwyer Instruments and the details on the SGC-15 compact pressure gauge are that the dial has a 165^ arc with 200 psi increments. Likewise, the gauge has a SS case which is used to tighten down the threads (no flats on the stem, which is good because the OEM one sits nearly flush on the extension adapter). I was unable to locate any local distributors that carry this gauge however, Dwyer sells direct. So far this looks like the only option without modifying the stock. |
