Hey, all..new to this forum, though relatively old to airgunning. Have recently added an XS-B9-1 to my collection (which comprises an 853c Avanti, Slavia 630, Gamo Compact, and Umarex Walther CP99).
Anyways, I'm quite liking the B9 for the repeat function. I have it tricked out with a 3 point sling and a Vortex Strikefire red-dot and it has completely changed my opinion of Chinese guns, which up till now was completely based on a piece 'o shyte Marksman from a few years back.
Now, my question (and I'm assuming someone with the moniker 2RCHA would have the answer). I've tried a number of pellets in the thing. It seems that there is a slight issue with a pellet becoming canted in the clip, hanging up and not feeding. I know that firing a springer with nothing in the barrel is a no-no. Some (Gamo and Daisy) were real bad...improperly loading every 2nd or 3rd round.
I'm having the best luck (only 1 misfire in 50 or 60 rounds) with, wouldn't you know it...the most expensive pellet out there...RWS R-10 Match.
Does anyone here have a recommendation of a pellet that won't give me feeding problems?

Why are they canting in the clip? It's probably pellet dimensions. R-10 fits best so try looking for pellets with the same measurements. My guess is the cheap pellets are small? Since I don't have calipers or pellets handy I can't do much...

I really can't figure it out.
For example, RWS Hobby's, dimensionally are the same as the R-10...yet they don't work well.
The only thing I can figure is that in the diagram in the instructions (which are very poor) the pellets they are using are not diablo shaped, but cylindrical...like a firearm round (9mm). I can't find anything locally that look like them, though on the website of the dealer I frequent from another city the Skenko kinda look similar.
It's as though the skirt from one pellet will slide into the waist of the following pellet and end up canted.
The rifle can be fired single shot...but that kinda defeats the purpose of why I purchased the XS-B9 over the QB-57.

Maybe you will have to use those kind of pellets or whatever works.

Why are the pellets sliding around in the magazine? If it is too deep (much longer than pellet) there could be the problem. Not sure how to correct it without making a new magazine.

Try Crosman Premier Hollow Point (CPHP). I have a few clip feed airguns and the CPHPs seem to fit snug in the clips with no feed problems. And they are only $6 or $7 at Walmart for 500.

What a coincidence...I have been looking at the 2 models you mentioned, just this morning want something that has low cost.. .177 break barrel is the ticket. Please post what you learn, as I can sure use the info...thanks !
