Look closely near the end of the stock at the action. But it's technically a springer, using a gas spring. What makes these so great is that they're adjustable. So yeah, you do need a pump, allthough most people bleed it from 26 bar down to somewhere around 23, or maybe 20 like mine. I find the recoil on mine... very controllable. Edit: Did about 20 shots today, the groups went open a bit. I stayed at school a lot longer, and had to help a buddy with his bicycle. I was pretty tired when I got home, so I guess that's one of the reasons. Still, this thing just grabs nice, it's balance is just terrific. I like the little kick it gives. It's just a really nice gun. However, I have to say that this rifle has had some modifications to the gas spring. And some parts are interchangeable. But it's actually not really a Rekord trigger. Nice rifle. It offers more fun then the HW100 (in my opinion) and it's by far one of the best balanced rifles I've ever shot. Shot it today at the range. While it is quite hard to shoot over 20 yards, it's still a real fun rifle. It challenges you. I love it. Edit: By the way! The name of the HW90 trigger is "Elite". It's parts are mostly a bit bigger. So interchangeabilty is a nono.
